I just picked up a 2019 MDX advance. When I plug my i phone 12 into the smartphone jack, the car says phone plugged into the wrong USB outlet (which it is not). Any advice on what to try next?
I'm using a generic iPhone to usb cable-does this matter? Thanks in advance!

 

If it is a very bad/cheap cable, it may not be transferring data. Have you tried it in other cars or computer?
Acura dealers will tell you to use only original Apple cables. I found that to be overkill as long as you use an Apple certified cable, you should be ok.

 

Thanks, the original (overpriced) apple cable I picked up at the apple store did the trick.
