When I use an older iPod mini plugged into the right USB port in the center console in my 2019 MDX all the possible voice commands are available but when I use a new iPod touch all the voice commands are greyed out, any suggestions, and thanks.

 

Is Carplay activated when you plug in the new ipod?

 

CarPlay wasn't activated or being used at all in both circumstances. I did just go by the dealer and he couldn't figure it out. He said in '19 they did a software upgrade and maybe that was the issue. Sounds like a "I can't figure it out, let me buy some time."

 

Reason I mention Carplay because I believe the iPod touch has Siri integrated as opposed to the older iPod and that may be why regular voice commands are disabled

 

I thought of that also and I disabled it, or hopefully I did, still no good.
I think it is something like that though.
