2017 MDX Prices Paid
#81
Hello, Newbie here.
In the Market for 2017 MDX - AWD with Tech Package.
This is one of the quotes I have got.
Sale: $44,483
Accessories: $998 (front/rear splash guards, all-season mats, wheel locks)
Another quote with base price of $43472.
1st quote looks pretty lame to me. I can get the same base price of 44472 with Carjojo itself. I said no to accessories and asked him to come down in the base price.
What base price I should aim for? 43000? Is 42000 feasible at all?
Thank you all for any suggestions or input.

So $6500 PLUS $2000, total of $8500 off from the 51360? OR $6500 off from 51360.
Whats the base price you paid? Would you mind sharing?
Thanks.

$51,360 minus $6500 = $44860 +TTL, minus the $2000 rebate, and 2.9 for 60 through Acura........ I took delivery on November 9th, and from what I have heard Acura dealers got so more dealer cash from the factory to help move units, still lots of 2017 out there. We bought from a high volume Acura dealer, and there is a step up in dealer cash per unit if they move enough units. This is the time of year to buy a 2017..........

The accessories you listed above for $998 is pure garbage. Might as well buy those accessories online for much cheaper.

The dealer I was dealing with would not budge from the $44.5k sale price. I tried to get the GM to get me down to $42-$43k range and said I was being too aggressive with my asking price. This was for a 2017 MDX with SH-AWD and Tech package. I didn't bother contacting him back and will wait until 2018 prices come down next year.

Agreeing with like2ace on this one. If that is what you want, you can try to push the envelope. All they can say is no. However, that sounds like a fair deal. If you can wait, you may want to sit tight until Christmas week. Sometimes the stealerships are in a better mood to move inventory before the end of the month and year. Good luck!

It can be true, depends on the stealership. I used to work as a manager in a stealership, EVERY day was the end of the month as far as we were concerned. We used to tell customers our GM hated us (we all think he did), and we might as well get fired for giving them a good deal than some BS reason he had cooked up in his mind, that was good for a few laughs (and deals)..

Are you financing or leasing? They might have better incentives for leasing. My car was leased MSRP was $51,350. I got a sale price of $41,350 after all incentives applied. I just received my first months statement and my pay off is $41,XXX .
2017 MDX SH-AWD w/ Tech.
FWIW though I'm in So. Cal and dealers tend to be pretty aggressive out here.

I've been dealing with the dealership nearest to me (50 miles away), but there are 6+ dealers in the Bay Area that I haven't contacted yet. I'm in no rush to buy now, hence my aggressive asking price. What hurts me is the sales tax - city I'm from has a sales tax of 9.25%. When my local dealership was still open, the GM was a family friend and it was so easy to deal with him on asking price. He'd give my family great deals because he knew we would be back for service, etc. (plus we bought our first Acura from him back in 1989 when he was still a salesman). Anyways, my first choice is still the MDX followed by the 4Runner.

I'm around 44500. Dealers are not budging even at the end of the year.

I feel 44500 base is NOT a good price for AWD with TECH. I can get the 44472 through Carjojo by doing no negotations. Usually dealers can do way better than Carjojo price for the last year model.
financedude was able to get it for $51,360 minus $6500 = $44860 +TTL, minus the $2000 rebate in NOV itself. Essentially $42860.
He did deal with large volume dealer. Still $44500 at the end of the year when 2018 already in the lot looks pretty bad IMO.

I did try with another dealer. Still they are around base price of $44500. I said thanks and walked out.
Hope they will come down after new year.

Would you mind sharing the dealer info if you are from Midwest?
Is anyone from Chicago area who got better deal for Tech package.
Thanks.
#99
Try Acura of Palatine, I hear they wheel and deal. Supposedly the highest volume Acura dealer in Chicagoland.

Could that price include installation? Mats not so much but for the splash guards and wheel locks. Hopefully original purchaser looked at accessory pricing before purchasing to avoid getting ripped off.
#101
I'm not even that handy, but I could install splash guards in less than a 20 minutes and wheel locks are easy too....

In Nevada, I negotiated over the phone and brought Edmunds and other dealer in CA printed out. The sales director couldn’t believe that I got it for that price. I emailed the GM directly and cut the middleman. This price includes the new grad program for an additional $500 savings.

Nope no other fees. I just had to pay drives off of $942 and some change. My payment on a lease is $457 including tax on 2017 MDX SH-AWD Tech. I wasn't interested in purchasing so I never asked.
