The MDX is marketed to a different demo and there isn't a reason to go over 115 mph unless you are evading the police. The MDX would probably go over +130 mph without the limiter; but, tires, brakes, suspension, top heavy SUV, towing up to 5000lbs, and/or possible +1000 lbs of extra weight in the cabin would ensure certain death if something went wrong. I would suggest a Dodge Durango SRT or Hellcat if you have a need for speed.

Speaking from the perspective of the manufacturer and applicable laws, the tires the MDX came from the factory wearing probably had a speed rating of "T" (or possibly "U" or "H"); most places in the United States (and elsewhere in the world) have laws on the books which prevent a vehicle from being able to exceed the speed rating of its tires. By governing the MDX to 115 mph, that leaves Acura with the flexibility of fitting any tire with a speed rating of "T" or higher.

I haven't tested out the top speed on my Hybrid but doing 100mph on Summer tires feels pretty steady. I'm sure we can push at least 130mph on a closed run way

The 17+ MDX can handle 115 MPH without any issue. Don't ask me how I know. Also, make sure your tires are rated for over 115 MPH.
My 16 Rogue can do 120 MPH, but that thing struggled from 80 MPH to 120 MPH.

You all are very brave to take a fat pig that fast on public roads. If a tire blows, or you go over something and blow a tire, then it's game over for you. God forbid that you kill someone else. If you kill just yourself, then it's a Darwin award winner right there. Don't do that shit on public roads.

This is the most hilarious thread ever... suv forum boasting how fast they’ve gone in their flying bricks. One thing I noticed about the Infiniti fx35 was that the cruise control doesn’t set at triple digit speeds. Anyways continue...

Haha a fat pig??? Didnt we purchase this SUV for its driving dynamics rather than a boring old SUV???? I dont get it???? I purchased the Hybrid because it out handled most 3 row SUV's! Doesnt make sense to baby what SH-AWD was meant to do. But hey to each its own. Good day Sir
just few reply of people who wants to tell you how you should drive....🫤

hybrid could go 140??? completely false. I believe the hybrid may have the speed limiter set at 130 instead of 115. but there is no way you will go over 130 in the hybrid. speed limiter is just that, a speed limiter. In the U.S. ALL cars sold MUST be limited to a speed NO higher than the speed rating on the OEM tires. And tires shops legally CANNOT install tires with a speed rating LOWER than what was installed at the factory. The only exception being winter tires. Now if you want to go over 130, that measn Z or W rated tires. Ever price them out?? very limited and more expensive than H rated tires.
There is IMHO ABSOLUTELY not justified reason to EVER EVER EVER drive something like the MDX on public roadways at over 100MPH. And ther is NO public roadway in the US. that has a speed limit that high anyway. to the OP grow up and become responsible.

Even growing up in Montana when they had "reasonable and prudent" for a speed limit, there were only a few cars I had that I would push 100 in. And even if that was still the speed "limit" I'd never ever push an MDX or similar SUV to 115, let alone above that. I guess the car mfg are doing something about making the cars safe for "STUPID" by putting on reasonable llimiters for cars. BTW I do have two cars with limiters to 155, still don't push them even to 100.
