Wheel Size Suggestions?
Hello guys and gals,
Since Feb, I've been the proud new owner of a '11 GLM 4Door TSX. It's been a few months and I think it's time for me to start making some modifications. The car looks amazing, but the OEM wheels just doesn't do it justice imo.
After combing through this forum for a few weeks and learning about offsets, tire sizes, etc, I had sort of decided on using 19x8.5 ET45 with 245/35R19 or 225/40R19 all the way around. At this point I'm not planning on lowering it. I've read on some other threads that going with 19" wheels and no drop may cause some wheel gap and that 18" with thicker tires would be preferable if I'm not lowering it.
From using the tire size calculators, it seems like the the wheel diameter using 245/35R19 or 225/40R19 would be pretty darn close to OEM. So why the wheel gap?
Secondly, I'm leaning towards the 225/40R19 since they have a thicker sidewall, hopefully meaning a smoother ride, But I'm worried about the width of the tire not filling out the 8.5" rims. Should I be concerned? Seems like a majority of users here use 245/35R19s.
