Rear Sway Bar Options 2nd Gen

Hey guys I am fairly new to posting on this forum and new to the whole modification game but the two main things I have been wanting to do is the icebox (plenty of information on these forums already) and a rear sway bar. I know Progress has one out already but I am not to happy with having to drill out the existing connections for it to fit (so that I can go back to stock one day for resale purposes in a decade). Does anyone know if another company is developing a 22mm rear sway bar that will be a straight swap? I know CTE had one for the 1st gen. Maybe Lou, Boosted or Heavy can weigh in as they seem to have the most tie in with CTE and the northwest developers.

Thanks!!

Instead of drilling the mounting plate to accommodate Progress's larger 10 mm diameter bolts, you can buy bolts that are the original diameter (8 mm) but are longer in length (25 mm) to fit the Progress backing plate.

Here's my parts list when I ordered my set from boltdepot.com:

#12005 - Metric flange nuts serrated, Steel grade 10.9, 8mm x 1.25

#6730 - Metric hex bolts, Metric full thread (tap) bolts, Steel grade 10.9, 8mm x 1.25 x 25mm

#4815 - Metric lock washers, Stainless A-2 (18-8), 8mm

#7316 - Metric fender washers, Stainless A-2 (18-8), 8mm x 24mm

I just installed the Progress 22mm rear sway bar on my 09 Accord and I can't wait to test it out tomorrow!

Thanks for the info man. I have heard that CTE may be coming out with something in a few months so I may just wait.

they are? who did you hear this from? It's taking them a long time to even come out with the exhaust. The 3rd gen TSX will be out before the supercharger comes out lol.

That is crazy they just dont include all this stuff in the kit. Who wants to drill on their car?
So you are saying with all these parts it is plug n play with not other mods? I want a rear sway bar badly but did not want to have to modify anything that was irreversible.

Heard it from Rob at lynnwood Acura. Used to be Boostedtsx on this forum. Considering all the work they have done on his car I tend to believe him.

Yes, using these bolts/nuts/washers/lock washers instead of the ones that comes with the Progress bar, you won't need to drill or modify anything. You'll need to get qty 8 x fender washers and qty 4 x of the bolt, flange nut, and lock washer.

Do you have any pics of your install or any comments on the how they improved the handling? Anything a perspective buyer should know about? Are they quiet?

Ok so I called ct-engineering today, asked about a rear sway bar and was told that one was in the works. They said it could be done by halloween. Just giving an update.

LOL, I would bet my bottom dollar it isn't even close to that time. I have never heard of a manufacturer ever tell the truth as to when a product will be done. They want to keep everyone interested so they lie as to when by saying it will be done earlier. Because if they said it won't be till next summer, then you would just go buy another kind.

Taxes are going up next year thanks to our new socialist leaders. You most likely will not have near as much of a return if you get one at all.

We shall see. The City of Los Angeles will still give me a salary step increase at the end of the year.

Great Thread Guys. This is a big help.

I have an 09 TSX that I have periodically looked around at modifying. But haven't done anything yet. I plan on sways and brake upgrades.

For the rear sway, it sounds like maybe I might wait until Halloween to see if CT Engineering holds to their word.

My only modification experience is on a 350Z I sold last year. So front wheel drive mods is a new area.So a rear sway exists, but is there a need for a modified front sway on fwd?

Just throwing out an idea; but is it possible to put the TL's SH-AWD Rear Sway bar into the TSX? or is that something completely different

Depends on the mounting points, undercarraige setup and exhaust routing. I do not have access to check this out so you would probably be better asking one of the acura guys like rob a acura of lynwood.
