With the market for wheels how it is, which is directed to 19x9.5 / 19x10.5 staggered setups, finding an aggressive set of rims with either step lip, lip, or concave will be hard. I truely believe 19x9.5 +30 to about +38 is doable.

If you're looking for concavity and settle for 18"'s. I'd recommend XXR 527's or possibly MB Battle; however its been played out on many cars, but don't think has been done on 2nd gen tsx's. Just giving anyone idea's incase they wanted 18's that would be doable for our tsx.

http://www.nlmotoring.com/product-p/52788107n.htm

cheap reps that do the job if you don't mind a nice winter/summer setup.

Oh man, thanks a lot for this info STRAN. And damn, I was interested in the MB Battles but didn't know they didn't have 19's how do you think MB Battles will look on our car.. I think they have 18x8.5 +30 and 18x9.5 +15 :/

There is a member on here with 18" Mb Battles, but I dont think it was the most aggressive size available.

Stran, I dont know where you came from, but I really appreciate all your comments and feedback. Its been a real obstacle for me trying to find out what kind of widths and offsets our cars can handle without doing any pull.

When I went in for my fender roll, the guy told me to test fit the wheel on my fronts before I roll them, because there is a chance my suspension will rub on the actual liner. That means I will have to cut my liner. This is an issue regardless of how aggressive my wheels are and is a consequence of wanting to slam my ride. I told him I think it would be ok because there are others on this forum who have slammed on megans and they had no problems.

Anyways, the wheels im looking at right now are 19x9.5 +22 all around. If anything, i will do +30 in the front, but I really want to push the limits. I was also planning on doing a 225/40 because that is a pretty common stretch that looks good and give me some room to work with. I just need to sell my Work wheels and then new wheels will be on the way.

I also looked at the 527's and the MB Battles specifically because for the price they are amazing. Ive seen both in person too and they look just as good as in pics, if not better. I liked the 527's dude to their quarter inch widths which is unique, but i almost feel like they are TOO concave for my personal taste. The MB battles are nice too but look a little too small on the car. There is a member here who has them and I wish they were just a bit bigger. I am not ruling these wheels out yet, but they are more of a last resort. Having 18"s mean cheaper tires too and its possible they wont look so small on a lowered car.
Anyhow, I will try and update this thread as I have more info. Thanks guys for the recent help. I am not experienced at suspension tuning so just keep in mind that I am learning as I go.

If you want an aggressive look, 18x9.5 + 15 all around would be best. 18x8.5 +30 will have little concavity.

noproblem. I just recently switched from a 7th gen coupe to a 2012 MR TSX. I started looking through these threads and just wanted to offer my advice from past experiences on my 7th gen.

Thanks STRAN for the valuable infos that you've provided. I'm considering 18s and 19s and I was wondering what is the most and safest concave look I can go for without rolling fenders? I'm looking in dropping 1" max on TEIN SS. Also, what range of tires will work with them?

I have a 19x8.5 +35 up front and 19x9.5 + 40 in back with about -3.0 camber and they are right at the fenders. I will have to roll to clear them with stock camber. The tsx cannot go as aggresive as the 3rd gen tl. I wouldnt go lower then + 32 on a 8.5 and lower then + 38 on a 9.5 up front. I do belive we can pit a 10” rear with a + 40 offset. Just remember if you go wide rim and more then a 1.5” drop you gonna have to do a stretched tire. I tried on a bunch of different rim sizes and offsets so I know where they will sit for you.

Thanks T-Jay for that input.

I've had the same mentality as most of you here who think that we cannot fit anything as aggressive as the 3rd gen TL's and that in order to do so would require a stretched tire, massive camber, fender work etc.

Well I have to say right now that I am beginning to change my mind and finding some new hope in our cars..all we need is a simple fender roll.

I was able to fit a 275/30/19 tire on a 19x9.5 +35 wheel on my rears, with the roll and coilovers. Everything clears and there might even be room for a 5mm spacer or 10mm depending on how much negative camber I dial to once I install them. But even without the arms, this setup clears perfectly. I put this same wheel and tire on the fronts and it did not clear. Even with the -1.5degree camber I can get from my ball joints, it wouldnt be enough. We think the widest tire we could go is 255.

I hope this info is useful for the others out there looking to achieve a wider look. I will keep you guys posted as I learn more.

Damn you on rwd statis with 275 on the rear. I need a roll before I install my rims and camber kit but the east coast sucks. No one have the proper machine to do it here.

damn that is super poke. but honestly i think poke looks dumb, especially on a ride height like that. I know you just did it for fun, so just sayin. The best stance in my opinion is flush +low + some camber... like this 350z. I dont think the wheel that you test fitted would work with coilovers...whats the tire size you had on there?

For all of you running 8.5+ wide rims that are +45 and less (+40 to +30 range, I assume), what is your camber set at?

+1, even the rear is a tad bit too much for me. front is perfect though

Yup, I agree and that 350Z has an awesome stance. Unfortunately, the wheels I test fit had too much poke for my taste. The shop took measurements and will come up with a good fit for my car. I'm not certain but I think the tires were 245/35.

The front brakes seem a bit large. Anyone know if we can run S-Lo disk wheels front and rear?

18x8 mb battles +30 and 245 40 18 all around. Fronts are perfectly even w fender. Any wider I'd rub for sure. Rears could prob handle a 10mm spacer.

FYI = I "know" a CU2 here in Aus with 20x8.5 +30 fronts and 20x10 +20 rears. A lot of guard rolling to do done to get these fitted.

defcon's 9.5 wides up front with +45 ET has essentially the same outward extension as 8.5 wide with +30 ET according to the offset calculators. He is dropped 1.6" up front on S-Techs and seems to have to no issues. This is with no crazy neg camber, fender pulling, or stretched tires. The rears have even more clearance than the front. That's probably the limit for the front though.

Terdbath, I'm really liking your 18x8 +30 style . It looks good and pretty flush. Do you have more pics of side view and more close ups of fronts & back of the fenders? I'm stuck between 19x8.5 +40 range, and 18x8.5 +30 range (non-staggered). I wanna go with aggressive.

Awesome pics Terdbath! Thanks! What is your drop on your ride (if any)? I'm thinking of getting the XXR 527 18x8.75 +35 for now.

I am on Tein S Techs.

XXR 527's are a handsome set of wheels. I think they will look great on your car. I considered the 522's myself.

Hey T-Jay. Did you happen to ever test a 245/35 up front and a 255/35 in the rear on your new 19" set up? I'm planning to run this configuration, but wanted to make sure everything (especially the front) will fit. Bascially was wondering if you went with a stretched 235/35 up front for a reason. ie the 245/35 did not fit on a dropped car.

235 35 19 in the front only but you should be able to run a 245/35/19 with near stock offset. More agressive offset with a roll. My 235 up front isnt even slightly stretched.

Sooooo...after hours and hours of grueling contemplationg..i decided not to buy the mag blue volks because I really wanted something a bit wider all around with a lower offset. So, I pulled the trigger on a different set of wheels today! They will arrive in a few days but I may not have time to drive across the border and pick em up till early next next week.
