Need Serious Fitment Help!! and advice
Alright, as some of you know, I like to keep as quiet as my excitement will let me when it comes to new mods, but I wont be able to do so this time because I need help from the Guru's.
Alright..BASICALLY, I want to fit some 19x9.5 +22 wheels onto my car. I have found a buyer for my work wheels and as long as he doesnt flake I want these varrstoens on the black market. I've also purchased coilovers and found someone to roll my fenders for me when the time comes.
Heres whats been going through my mind the past couple days
-What will it take for me to get these wheels to fit?
-Is there a certain tire size that I should be looking to use?
-Is this even possible and am I crazy for trying?
-Is this a bad idea?
-Is rolling fenders enough? I WILL NOT flare or pull
-Anyone on our forum running this kind of sizing already?
-Cheeseburgers & Fries..with bacon
-Is a test fit the only way to answer all these questions?
-Is our car comparable to the 3rd gen TL in terms of what wheels can fit? Cause our fenders look a bit wider..
Im going crazy here anticipating all these new changes to my car and I need some guidance, speculation and judgment on what I can expect from this goal of mine. Discuss away. Thanks all.

Ok to run these rims you will have to super stretch a 215 40 19 or 215 35 19 and roll the fenders and run negative camber. I tried on a 9.5” wide rim with a + 25 offset. The rim stuck out of the fender in the back like almost a half inch. Without super stretching the tires you will need the fenders pulled and run negative camber.

You see me, I CU2
19x9.5 + 22 is seeexxxy. The most I'd try as of right now for next summer is to find something 19x9.5 +30 lol
No fitment pro here but here's my assumption.
Using defcon's 19x9.5 + 45 for reference, (since no1 else runs that spec, unless you ask the Hawaiian dude wit the NBP CU2 slammed on AMEs(?) ) you'll notice that his fronts are flush but his rears are sunk, he has stated that he could use a 10 mm spacer to be flush so effective offsets would be +45 front + 35 rear, +22 for sure you will poke LOL. 24Boosted was running 19x9 +22 I believe and he poked alot too, his thread is here somewhere. I honestly don't think a roll is enough dude. You gotta do the flare and pull for sure.
I do not think the CU2 can compare to the 3G TL cuz I've seen those guys run high 20's to the low 30's with no body work required. Must mean they got space lol
The sacrifices you gotta make to get stanced out! Is it a bad idea? No is it a crazy idea? Yes and because of that its an AMAZING idea.

t-jay: that is precisely the kind of info I was looking for. So you've test fitted the same size wheel Im looking at pretty much and your conclusion is that I would have to super stretch in order for me fit without a pull? And there would be half an inch poke? I cant tell if im excited or scared shitless.
tobwac: maybe your right...after all..my car is a lease lol!!! albeit one that might get bought out.
Mr.NC: Thanks for reminding me of the other sizes other members have ran. Definitely helps me out here and I will use the search to find their threads. I just sent an email to varrstoen about the 19x9.5 +30 all around and they said $1050 shipped. Perhaps for that 8mm difference in offset it would be better to purchase these new. The 2 previous owners of the wheels I am looking at put them for sale because of the amount of work needed to make them fit

i think +30 will be a better idea and it will still be sick! (and btw i saw those on the blackmarket too..i didnt buy them cuz i know the amoutn of work i needa do to fit them haha)
crazy idea? maybe in the 2nd gen forum, look at all the fitment people in other cars, even 1st gen tsx, i think what you are doing will be the 1st of many and will def be sweet.
good luck man, i know it will turn out great
and i love burgers w/ fries and bacon.

Drifting
19x9.5 +30 would be fine in the rear for sure. im running 245/35/19 all around.
maybe +22 might be fine in the rear after doing all that fender and tire work.
however +22 in the front will be really tough. i have no experience in pulling my fenders and all that jizz. but youll likely have to go with thinner tires by stretching them out to prevent rubbing.
215/35/19 is scary

Yea after I tried them on I was convinced not to go with any rim under 35offset. Just suck out to far and to run negative camber is to have a lot of money for tires at least twice a year.

I should mention that I will add camber too as well. Does that make any of all this easier? How many degrees of camber do you think I will need? Anyone?

I was looking at those wheels too ttk5! I was told 19x9.5 + 22 would MOST PROBABLY fit the rears but if you're going for the fronts too, that's going to be a bit of trouble maybe. He also suggested 225/40/19's would do as well. 215 sounds really thin (even though I'm no expert).
One of my friends is running 185's on 8.... not safe at all.
I thought since +22 won't really do the fronts any good, I was planning on going something like 19x9 +25 or 30 if they have it? And rears 19x9.5 or even 19x10 +22 on the rears.
Also, if you don't mind me asking.. does your seller ship to Australia? :o I'm starting to look for wheels too and I'm going to go with Rota's for my first set.
Cheers ttk5.

Here is a pic of the tire you need to run 215/35/19 your gonna have to go -2.00 to -3.00 degrees camber. good luck buying tires twice a year maybe more. You might be able to get a little longer tire life if you go to a performance alighnment shop that knows how to play with the toe to save tires a little.

cars going into shop tomorrow for phase 1 of the project flush which is coilovers and fender roll !!
im going away on vacay on wednesday but picking things up right when i get back. phase 2 is installing camber kit and phase 3 is fitting the wheels.
for wheels i decided to go for 18x9.5 cause when slammed 18's look big enough and as mentioned tires will be cheaper.

If you plan on going 18x9.5 +30, running 215's might be the best option if you want to get minimal camber. 225/40/18's would be best, but it'd prob force you to run a little more camber. I'm also looking forward to see how far I will be able to push the CU2. At first, I thought it'd have the same amount of space as 3G TL's in terms of clearence... but looks no where close. I haven't seen anything too aggressive for the 2nd gen tsx's.

I need more updatesssssss! I've been looking at a few rim shops and suppliers of RAYS/SSR etc and they all say 19x9.5 +22 won't fit in the front :/ it'll hit the inside walls of the chassis. Ill check out 24boost's thread again after this but in case I can't find it, he ran 19x9 +25? Or.....?
Do you guys think 18's will look small on our cars? (slammed, stretched tyres, 18")
Also, is 81mm of dish a lot? o_o
Edit: STRAN, if you have any info on aggressive wheels, PLEASE SHARE
I want to know the most aggressive specs possible for the CU2 :/ and what would need to be done to pull it off etc.

picked up a CU2 about 2 weeks ago. Now looking for coilovers first, then wheels. I was planning on running 19x9.5 / 19x10.5 +32 / +37, but 10.5 looks like it is out of the picture compared to what the CU2 community is running. When I bought the car, I did little research about what the 2nd gen's could run in terms of specs and offsets.

In terms of 18's being to small... its all preference, lip and stretch play a big role to pulling it off. 18" full face or concave might look better; (what ttk5) wants to run, but with a step lip or regular lip, 18's would probably look small.
Edit: to answer what could be done to pull off 19x9.5 +22 if too agressive... It'd probaly be roll fenders, stretched tires (215's) and -2.5 / -3 camber all around. This is with the assumption that 9.5+22 pokes out to much. A slight pull is also the answer to making this fit, but with a new semi lux sedan, its up to you if you want to ruin your fenders incase you resell your car or decide not to keep it.

Hmmmm...i think I'd run 9.5 max in the rears... Offset maybe around 30 if possible? Lower would be better but I need to know 100% sure that's possible and how much negative camber etc and if I'd need to pull my guards. I want to avoid pulling.
Fronts are more of the problem as I don't know what would be the most aggressive width/offset I can go. With our cars 'only' being able to run high offsets, the wheels we choose can't really be concave/deep dished? I wanted to go TE37SL's but the only offset available in 19's are +22 so if I go with normal TE's, they'll just be flat. No concave :S
Edit: Ed, is 'dinky' a good thing or a bad thing LOL.
But yeah, I wanna go 19's. So looking for the 'best/most aggressive' specs for 19's.
