Exclamation MoUnTeD!!!!!!

Wheels are mounted, and here it is.....The rims look phenomenal, this pic does them no justice

However... I took them right back off

Decided, that these wheel specs that were recommended by the Stance wheels rep, are sh*T! He tells me this is what they do for all staggered sets, but it looks hidious!

Instead, I will be sending the rear tires back in and exchangeing them from the original 265/30/19 to a 265/35/19... I like how beefy these 265's look though.

The place I mounted them is called rent and roll. I guess you can do that but I bought mine straight from Stance wheels.

That's the wrong size too. IIRC (I told you in your original thread) that these will be about inch larger than your fronts (while the ones you have now are a half in smaller)

You really want 255's

BTW, one can easily see that the rears are a half inch smaller - even on the pictures.

Oh, to all the "gap'sters" out there - the car is on a damn lift.

Thanks, bud. Drop and camber coming but first things first I gotta see how it sits before I can decide how low I wanna go. I'm not into the slammed look.

Yeah, that's what I want a little beffier in the rear like the front. Also, the concativity is unreal even with these offsets, that's why I liked these wheels so much as well.

I'm not angry at all, you're just rude. "Looks Ok. That gap is phenomenal" I didn't join this forum for your sarcasm. Obviously I was upset about the gap, and I don't need someone without a car in the garage to rub it in. Then instead of reading the thread correctly hence all the tire specs saying 19' 19' 19' you blurt out 20's... What's your deal, if you dont have any constructive to say, justvmove on...

However, if you have any ideas or something that you think might help me out, please DO share!

Hey ceb;
Yeah, I wish I had talked to you before I ordered the tires, but It was after the fact so I had to toss them on and see what I was working with. I think I'm gonna stick with the 265/35 becacuse I don't mind the front tires at all they look good and have enough meat for the drop I wanna do. Everything about the rears is great except that half inch I'm missing. With the 265/35/19 I'll get that inch back and it will match up with the fronts. Overall, once it's all done an eibach pro 1" all around will make a huge difference while keeping driveability.

255/35 on a 9.5 width will actually get you to a total wheel/tire circumference that is very close to 245/35 on a 8.5 width. I am running that combination if you need to see an example. didnt want to post pics here as reference. not a thread jacker. lol

Lol at the CEB error....oh lawwwwd

Aight Ima say that if my sarcasm has rubbed you the wrong way may bad for that. I am quite sarcastic on the boards, it keeps everything from being serious and shit.

I won't give you constructive criticism in regards to your rims and tires since other members of the forums have got your back on that already. Your rims do look like 20's IMHO proly since it's a full face. The only productive thing I can say is that, you should really just make 1 progress thread in the photography session so everything you do is recorded in one place, thus keeping the forum and it's subsections clean and tidy, this goes for everyone actually.

Oh yeah...I do have a car apparently, who knew.

Uuhhh, okay I don't see what seriousness you speak of but anyway. Thanks for the forum help, I could really use it as I'M learning how to do more things on here everyday, that is a great tip. As far as the wheels go, there is no way in hell if these were 20's there would be THAT HUGE of a wheel gap you saw and speak of no matter what size tires where on there. As far as your car is concerened, do you have recent threads? All I saw was a picture of a CB front lip
( =no offense) some light bulb changes oh and an intake.

oh gah...now you're going to call him out on the types of "mods" or changes he did to his car? if you're gonna nitpick at every little thing, then you might as well go into the majority of the build threads here and rain fire on their cars for their small "mods".

i'm surprised you got all butt hurt at Mr NC's comment but you didn't say shit about tobwac's "black hole" comment.

Ok everyone lets calm down

Im all for constructive criticism and opinions, but lets not down anyone for NOT having alot of mods. Not all of us can afford all the mods we want or like or even dislike.

Lets not forget that everyone here, EVERYONE, has a very different financial and life situation. While Im all for commenting on mods that people have done since it is posted on a public forum, I think we as a community should never belittle someone for the number or amount of modifications theyve made to their car.

Lets leave the douchebaggery and backhand comments to other forums. I come here for the humor, the community, and the thick sense of skin that everyone rolls with,

An internet slap on the wrist to you sir.

Those are the absolute best wheels i have seen for the Tsx! A lot of folks put on wheels with multiple spokes with a very "busy" look. But not these, you nailed it....Great choice...in fact i may follow your lead. I have never liked the "dropped" look on any car...but i am 50 years old :-).
Please take some good side shots !!!

Thanks, Airlaird
I love this wheels a lot and can't wait to actually get good pics of them once they're mounted. The only thing is that it being only five spoke. Now I want to get some nice drilled and slotted rotors and either a brake upgrade or some caliper covers. Thanks again, good luck if you follow suit, Stance wheels guys are very friendly and will give you a good deal.

Im all about this being a fun experiance and comrodary building hobbie. If you look at tobwac's comment it was said in a joking manner hence the "lol" he then went on to say that it looked good and asked if I was gonna lower. Unlike Mr. NC who instead of not saying anything says "looks ok" and the ridicules me further by quoting the use of the word phenomenal. Secondly I wasn't by any means bashing him in return, he sent me a link to what seems to be an older thread based on the dates, all I did was ask him if there was a recent one, as well as told him I wasnt a fan of the CB lip. Maybe this guy -----> was the reason my message sounded harsh.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken. I think the 1/2 inch less sidewall makes the gap appear really huge.

Getting back on topic - any 265 width tire will have the wrong size. The 30's you currently have are a half inch smaller than the fronts and look funny, while the 35's will be ofer a half inch larger than the fronts. Just like your rear tires look very funny now, your front tires will look funny with less rubber than the rears.

The proper size would be 255/35 as they are about a 1/4 of an inch larger than the fronts (about 1/8 inch more sidewall) - a difference what wouldn't be easily seen.

Is it possible that the OP doesn't understand tire sizing? Let's have quick primer:

The manufacturer determines the appropriate outside tire diameter for a specific car and calibrates the odometer and speedometer to that size. The odometer and speedometer are often calibrated slightly differently with the odometer being spot on and the speedometer reading a bit high to keep people from getting too many speeding tickets.

In our case, the manufacturer has specified an outside diameter of about 25.86 inches which equates to a 225/50/17 tire.

The 225 designates the width of the tread (millimeters - in this case about 8.8 inches) while the 50 is the height of the sidewall expressed as a percentage of the tread width. In this case the sidewall is 50% of 225 or about 112.5mm (4.43 inches)

Double that number (4.43x2=8.86) and add it to the diameter of the tire bead (in this case 17 inches) and you come up with 25.86 inches - coincidentally the outside diameter as specified by the manufacturer.

For some odd reason, wheel sizes are expressed in inches while tire sizes are in metric.

Since the goal is to keep the same outside diameter (to preserve your warranty and to avoid drivetrain issues) in order to increase wheel size, you must decrease the height of the sidewall. Each inch increase in wheel diameter decreases the sidewall by a half inch, so going from a 17 inch to a 19 inch wheel decreases the sidewall by an inch.

In the OP's case, by using the incorrect tire size, he actually reduced the sidewall by 1 and a quarter inches. This also dropped the car by 1/4 inch in the rear and increased wheel gap by a 1/4 inch as well.

Use a tire size calculator to get the proper size tire for your car.

There. Have I redeemed myself?

Thanks, Op. Appreciate it!

ceb - Swarlos already sold me on the 255 already, lol I appreciate all the info! And from what I read the company had a shaky situation in they're beginning years for they're "racing wheels". This is a new line and are a different monster. Either way they've been in business over 15 years and I trust that the manufacturer warranty will cover me should an issue arise.
