Megan Racing Coilover Review
I'm rating this based on:
1. Fit and finish
2. Ride Quality
3. Staff/Customer Service
and for the review:
1. I saw the coilovers before installation, and it looks to be good quality coilovers. In fact, I believe Megan's coilover system (at least for our cars) is on par with Tein SS, and I'm sure it can be had for a bit cheaper. It's a 32 way dampening adjustable coilover system with ride height being adjustable.
2. The technician set the dampening level @ 16 F/14 R, and it rides a lot like stock (32 being the softest and 1 being the hardest; they don't recommend going below 4). I drove home with my windows down and radio off to check for abnormal noises, and I did not hear any abnormal noises. (It's a 35+ miles drive home from their headquarter) The steering is sharper now and the car's cornering abilities have improved quite a bit (Expected with suspension mods I suppose) I feel a lot more confident now taking a corner hard.
3. I just had to mention their staff, the people i met are very friendly. I arrived during their lunch hours, and I was asked if i wanted some water and food. Plus the staff would constantly ask me if i was doing okay. Basically felt like I was a VIP or something.
p.s. The tech said with my current dampening settings, life expectancy of the shocks are between 40,000 to 60,000 miles.

nicee. so questions..
- the tech. said your stock shocks should last between 40k-60k, do they plan on making any after market shocks?
- how much would it cost (im sure you got yours for free, but i mean when it hits the market)
- would you recommend it?
and thnaks for the PM headsup!

i did not discuss price with them, but the msrp on their website is 1,050. i am guessing "street price" would be a little cheaper.
I would recommend it as of now, I'll let you know what I think of it in a week, after i spend more "quality time" with my new coilovers.

yes i know, i hear it too.
it was like a 2.5 inches drop. its just a cheapy canon point n shoot.
oh i am raising it back up half an inch tomorrow to put spacers on, so the wheels can be pushed out more.

Well, depending on your location.
In the US, there are only 3 available: Tein basics, Tein SS w/optional EDFC, and Megan Racing coilover. If you are just looking to drop your car, then Tein basics. If you are looking to adjust the dampening + lower your car, I'd say Megan.
If you are in Europe: Most definitely KW Variant 1.

the drop looks great!! has a more agressive look
do they plan to make a better shock once in production? i know the Ksports on my car will last alot longer then just 60K.
also kinda more off base question why did you go with a 35 series tire instead of a 40? i know the v6s come with 18s and a 45 series tire i would think the 19s would call for a 40 and still be in spec.. only reason why i ask is cause i would think it would fill the empty gap between the fender and wheel alittle more

Really didnt have a choice on the sidewall since i bought the rims and tires as a package deal (they were already mounted and balanced). Even if i did have a choice i would probably get 35 still though, just because the thinner sidewalls make the rims appear bigger overall.

right on.. do you have any pictures of the coilovers before they were installed?

Yellow fog light, rear boot spoiler, rear window visor, black rim...
All that items on the volcano grey TSX! It looks amazing!
If you can find the black center caps for the rims, it will be perfect!

Three Wheelin'
You are right Ed, Mike has Polished Metal Metallic.
They have Volcano Grey (Grigio) and Buran Silver (Palladium Metallic) in Australia but no PMM, hence the confusion.
We have PMM here for Model Year 2009, but Acura dropped it for Canada in 2010. Luckily, you folks in US can still order PMM for MY2010.
