Koni Sport Yellow
Hi guys,
Is anyone running koni yellows, if so what do you think about them?
I'm planning to use Tein H as I just want a mild drop. I was also thinking about a-spec from Links but I'm not sure about the rear lower than the front.
Thank you!

This is just an observation; why would they put the part in their website with part number and everything if the product isn't even ready for sale! I'm just a bit confused!
Is this like when I you tell your girlfriend that you're marrying her, an then say softly behind her back "in 3 years" type of deal?? Hahaha

idk, all i know is a few months back that the driveanaccord guys mentiond on their website that they got in touch with koni and that koni was making yellows for the 08+ accord (naturally, this meant wed get them too)
if i recall correctly the guy said they were about 6 months out, pretty sure it hasnt been 6 months yet, but either way if koni is listing them online they are probably close to done and/or on their way to vendors

this is similar to telling your girlfriend "babe, im busy, ill be there in like 2 hours" when in reality you arent really busy. Sometimes you get bored at home and go over her house early and she is very happy. Other times you wait 6 months as was initially expected

IMHO, the purpose of them assigning a part number is for people who want them, and are willing to wait vs no part number and they go with another manufacturer.
At SEMA 2000, (October) I ordered some Vortech supercharger kits for 99-00 Civic Si's and I think I received them in...May?
I think some manufacturers release a part number to gauge interest on a product (based on backorder quantities) and then decide to release it or not.
I've had KONI reds, yellows, and even one set of coilovers & do not like running anything else, if I can help it.
In the last 20 years or so, I've had one failure & the replacement was at the front door UPS overnight the next morning.
Also, many of the Sport (Yellows) have adjustable spring perches allowing you to lower the front of the car like...20mm and raise OR lower the rear 15mm. So if you want a modest drop without changing your springs, you can do that with the Yellows (IF they're built that way, not all of them are.)

Burning Brakes
If these are like their shocks/struts for other applications, they will be great.

There is usually only two detent reveals machined into the front strut body, one for stock height, the other 20mm lower. Then the rears have three, raised, stock & lowered 15mm.
I remember thinking to myself "WTH would someone want to raise the back of their car?"
"Duh, to compensate for the 200lb stereo box & amp crap that's part of some people's 'street racer' build."

20mm in the front and 15 in the rear. That would be a nice drop in my opion.
I wonder how much these will cost. I have Tein H techs and the stock springs are not quite up to par for these.
Do the konis come with new hardware and bumpstops, or do you have to reuse your old stuff. Nice shocks and dampers come with their own bumpstops so they are the perfect size and firmness to accomodate the shock.
I would be willing to buy a set if they are a good product that rides smooth and firm, not jarring, but road hugging and un harsh.

Unless things have grossly changed recently, a set of Koni Yellows should be able to be found for about $580/set.
Try the plicks at shox.com...
EDIT: oops, wait, just saw $756 set on their site.
Holy crap!!!
Shop around, there's deals to be found.

We have them for sale for about $670 on our website for the set.

If you click this link above you can see the link for each part. Front left and right are different; rear is the same and you need a qty of 2.

Burning Brakes
If they do for this application (some Koni applications do not have the movable perch, IIRC), they are only adjustable by taking apart the shock set up, reseating the perch, and reassembling. They are not adjustable like most coilover set ups where you can simply leave everything assembled and just move the perch up and down with everything on the car. Just wanted to point that out for people unaware. That being said, the inconvenience is a small price to pay for these. Konis are some of the best aftermarket shocks/struts out there based on build quality and valving and IMO, they are worth the money.

So if I'm already 1 inch lower with my Eibach prokits then with these Konis adjusted I'll be 1 inch PLUS the 20mm?
