If your gonna slam it low I would do a 215 40 19. A more aggressive stretch but still a good ride with a 40 profile.

Yea 245 40 19 shouldnt rub stock but with a drop it will. I would roll the fenders if you want that size. I have 225 40 18 on a 8.5” rim 45 offset. I want to go 18x9.5 40 offset on the same tire. I might have to roll the fenders also.

With that offset you will fit kind of flush with the fenders a 245 35 19 might be to wide also. You might have to roll them also. Remember 245 is wide 35 is high and 19 is rim.

I think you should be fine with 245/35 tire if you not gonna slammed you tsx defcon runs 245/35 on 9.5" rim and hes dropped 1.6f. 1.4r and he doesnt have his fender rolled (someone correct me if im wrong)

245 35 19 on a 9.5” wide rim will be a slight stretch on the tire. So the tire is less space consuming. That and offset makes a difference the lower the offset the more it moves toward the outside of the fender.

If the offset was 45 or better id say go for it but at 38 the tire and your fender might do some mating

exactly. if tobac is on 19x9.5 on +35 what im planning would be a little bit sunken compared to tobac and also narrower since i want to do 8.5? i would think i wouldnt rub if his specs dont? am i wrong to think this?

If you put the same tire tire on a 8.5 and a 9.5 the height on the 8.5 will be higher and tire stick out the rim slightly. The 9.5 will overall be lower and the tire will slope awa from the edge of the rim. Therefore there will be slight cearance between the rim and the tire.

235 40 19 might work. I found a wheel calculator online a few weeks ago that would really be helpful but I cant seem to find it again. Id say go to a good tire shop that has tires in stock and have them install one for test fit. 235 35 19 would be bad on potholes

would 225 defeat the purpose of having 40 sidewalls?

I would go with that if your worried about potholes. I googled that tire size on the rim and it has a nice stretch and profile look to it.

I'm going with a 19x9.5 offset +22 center bore 73.1.
Tires are 255/40/19 some sticky tires idk what brand yet.
Fenders will be pulled and rolled to get a flush look with the tire.
Flush but not hellaflush more like hellafunctional.

anyone else wanna chime in?

while looking on google...
225/40 looks like it looses sidewall from being stretched
245/35 looks like it has more sidewall without stretching

i read on danew604 post that on his 19x8.5 +35 bbs he ran 245/40/19 and rolled fenders while on BC coils. i wonder if i can get away with +38 on same size wheel and tire w/o rolling with with +38

If you're going 19x9 or 19x9.5, I'd probably go with 225. That would be enough for clearance if you're going to slam your car? But you'll also need to roll your guards though :\

Sorry to thread jack but I didn't want to make a new thread. Do you guys think 19x9.5 +30 will fit the fronts? My friend says +30 will definitely not fit the fronts if I'm going with 9.5 but I don't think they have any other sizes.. and he also said even if I go with a higher offset, I'll be hitting the inside wall? I know defcon runs 9.5 +45? or +40.. maybe.. But yeah, 19x9.5+30 will fit the rears, that's no problem.. It's just the front I'm worried about.

I've already gotten my front guards rolled. My car is sort of slammed.

Thanks guys!

I can't decide between the gunmetal look or gold LM wheels. If I go gunmetal I can go different offset than the gold and then go with different tires grrrrr
