I really dont want to do any fender work.... or have rubbing.... otherwise i dont have approval in the inspection. (Yes.. in shitty portugal.. you need to do tests.. to get aproval and be legal on the road. Any rub will cost me 150usd for the garbage...)

225/40 arrived ...
I asked them to send it back... no matter the shipping cost and ask for 235/40....

Either 235/40R19 or 245/35R19. Here's why:

You like the 235/35R19s in terms of how the wheels+tires look, but not the overall diameter because it's too small, causing the wheel gap to be bigger and thus requiring you to lower the car more to fill it. But, one important takeaway here is, you're content with the width of the tire.

You feel like the 225/40R19s look weird due to the mild tire stretch. However, it's better in terms of overall diameter, meaning you don't need to lower the car too much to fill the gap.

So, why not fix both issues? Have a tire that is at least 235mm in width, and has a sidewall thicker than 82.25mm (235mm*0.4).

You can go with 235/40R19, but your sidewall will be 94mm (235mm*0.4). Compared to the 225/40R19 (which has a 90mm sidewall), 235/40R19 will have 4mm less gap between the tire and the fender, and your car will be 4mm higher off the ground. This is assuming your coilover settings do not change between the two setups.

You can also go with 245/35R19, but your sidewall will be 85.75mm (245mm*0.35). Compared to the 225/40R19 (which has a 90mm sidewall), 245/35R19 will have 4.25mm more gap between the tire and fender, and your car will be 4.25mm closer to the ground. This is assuming your coilover settings do not change between the two setups.

Again, I would personally go with 245/35R19 because it won't throw the speedometer off significantly. But if you want a thicker tire, then you can do 235/40R19. You probably should've stopped the lady from ordering the 225/40 if you didn't actually like them!

PS: No you won't rub with any of these setups.
