Vibration and rattle normal?

This my first week ownership of 2009 tsx 20k miles. I just realized today that while stopped at red light the brake and steering virbration is getting worse. Its really annoying. Can that be fixed?

It sounds that you have warped front rotors. It can certainly be fixed at a relatively low cost if you can do it yourself.

I hear ya, and in my humble opinion, these cars to give off a good bit of vibration in Drive with your foot on the brake, the severity changes depending on whether the a/c is on or not.

The vibration through the steering wheel can't really be helped, but, you could have a stereo shop install sound deadening material under the hood to reduce it vibrating as much as it does.

Also, one of the members here used some rubber tubing to increase the desnsity of the hood seal at the base of the windshield & it worked for them.

(Kinda gotta get used to it.) What car did you trade for the TSX?

My previous car was 2003 honda accord 4cyc. I had 110k miles on it and it only rattles on steerin wheel not the brakes. I tho its was due to the age of the car. Since the tsx has only 20k miles i tho it should be more smooth. Kinda disappointed with the purchase. I drive locally in NYC, alot of stop and go traffic, so it gets really annoying

the tires could be out of balance, or a rim could be bent. Most "normal" tire shops (including dealers) do not properly calibrate their tire balancer, so it the balance is off even by 1/4 oz, you will feel it vibrate.

You might also check to see if you have a broken/compromised engine mount.

Just prop the hood, put it in Drive with your foot on the brake & give it a little gas with your other foot, then repeat the same proceedure in Reverse. Look through the engine through space at the base of the windshield if the engine moves more than ~1 inch in D or R, you may have some worn mounts.

Mine, with 18k miles has almost no vibration through the brake pedal or through the steering wheel.

Most likely culprit is a motor mount or subframe mount. Take it back to where you bought it and make them prove a new one does the same thing when they tell you it is "normal".

I have 20000 miles on mine and it seems to be smooth as butter. It is getting smoother as it gets older actually, and I drive the piss out of it as well.
