Two new questions

Couple of questions I've been thinking about asking for a couple weeks now.

1. When I depress my clutch, there's a faint click that comes from it. But it happens every time, and it doesn't have to be when I'm moving. I'd say it happens when I'm about 1/3 of the way down. It's kind of annoying, and I asked the service folks at the dealership about it when I got the leather put back on my seat correctly, and they said it had something to do with the clutch mechanism switching from low to high, or something like that. Said it was normal.. but I'm willing to bet that most of you are going to say you haven't noticed it. Just wondering if it's something that bs'ed me about, and maybe it could be fixed.

2. Is there any faster way that anyone knows of to scroll quickly down a long list on the nav screen? In particular, I'm trying to find a more efficient way of scrolling through my hundreds of artist names on my iPod. If I need to get down to 'S', it takes a long time to sit there and scroll the wheel to the right.. I kind of feel like it's going to wear it out at some point. I do know that you can click the wheel down and hold it to scroll, but is there any sort of voice command to jump to a letter or anything like that?

Thanks.

PointQ:

Does your ipod integrate sort by genre feature on your TSX? I can see the "genre" option in my ipod but it diesnt show up on the Nav screen, so my only options are playlists, song, artist, and on-the-go. I have a 30GB i-pod video.

I do also have the same problem with my ipod in scrolling through the hundreds of songs! I havent found a solution so if anyone knows that would help me also.

yeah, im talking 09 here.

ill45, ive got an ipod touch, and it does sort by genre, but my id3 tags on my songs are so inaccurate anyway, i wouldn't trust the genres to give me everything i was looking for. i do notice, now that you mention it, that i cant sort by genre.

I organized my genres and updated them to my specifications in Itunes... too bad i can sort by genre when its hooked up through the TSX. A way that i went around this was to just make another playlists titled ex: "R&B" and i put all the R&B songs within the playlists. Takes a little more time, but it works.

Point Q:

I was getting tired of spinning the wheel to go through the 100's of artists on my ipod so figured out the solution to scroll faster. When your at the list of songs/artists/albums instead of scrolling the wheel, you can either press the down button once to jump to the next set or hold it down to zip through the list. Works the same way going up also.

thanks ill45. yeah, ive definitely been using that cuz it's faster and i don't feel like im wearing out the wheel as fast, but it would be nice if you could, say, push the talk button and say "S" for it to jump the S's. maybe in the 2010's.

PointQ: That or having the wheel set up to spin like the ipod wheel, where if you spin it faster it goes faster through the list instead of one by one scrolling. Maybe in 2010 the top of the wheel button will be touch screen so you can scroll yet still have the manual scroll?

cllutch click

Check out the thread on "creaking and clicking clutch" in the first generation TSX area of this board. A lot of first generation owners with manual transmissions have experienced the symptom you mention. Mine has it. In my case it only occurs during very warm weather. The dealer replaced most of the linkage and the click/creak is a lot better. Mine used to do a click that you could feel in your foot as you were letting the clutch out....Very annoying....The replacement of linkage components got rid of the click I felt in my foot. But, it still has the creak when you depress the clutch during very hot (90 degrees plus) weather. I've grown used to it.
