Turn signal switch/cluster issues

I have a 2011 wagon w/tech package (125k miles). When I the activate the turn signal switch (left or right) all of the lights on the cluster illuminate and the speedometer and tach stop working. Car continues to run with no issues. This started out of the blue yesterday. Anyone seen this before?

Have you done any work on the car lately? Park it with the window open?

I can't see an easy way for the turn signals to feed back to the dash lights or speedo. Those are driven off the CAN-Bus system. They do share fuse #5 7.5A which is for the multiplex controller (under drivers dash fuse box) But lots of other stuff would be going bad if that happened. Windows and power locks may not work (Here you go, if things go batsh#@, try to roll down the window, That would be some real composure on your part)

When do the speedo etc come back, after restart?

More clues about what doesn't work may help.

Still having the above issue with the dash lights and instruments when using the turn signal switch. All lights on dash light up and the instruments (Speedo, tach, fuel etc) stop working. Also lights on the A/C control panel go out. Cruise control also goes off. Signals work fine while this is happening BTW.
Everything goes back to normal when turn signals are turned off. Car continues to run fine. The same thing happens when I turn on the hazards which rules out the combination switch.

Checked the fuses and all are good.

You were correct. Swapped the combination switch with new and signals are back to normal. Easy DIY. Remove the three screws on the steering column cover and use a trim tool to pull apart. No need to drop the lower dash panels. Switch is held in with two screws.

thanks for the help.

Spoke too soon unfortunately. Signals worked perfectly multiple times until about 10 mins into a drive then the issue returned. All lights on cluster flash and instruments (speedo, tach, gas gauge etc) dropped to 0 when left or right signals are on. Car runs normally. All returns to functioning when signals turn off. signals work normally while this is happening.

see photo below of instrument cluster while issue is happening.
