Tire pressure monitoring!!!

i have a 09 tech on long island. Its really cold for 4 days then its warmer for 4 days here.. so for 4 days the tire pressure warning is always on, but i dont want to put air in the tires becuase i know it wil warm up and the pressure will be fine. Anyone else have this dilema or am i the only one?? is there a way to disable it or do i jsut like with it?

At least you are smart enough to know that it was the cold weather that triggered the warning. Most people are too stupid to know that is the cause and run to the dealer. And no you cannot disable it.

I wouldn't drive around with low pressure on account of anticipated warm weather a few days later. The pressure won't increase drastically enough on a warm day to make it a problem.

My TPMS warning came on last night during a cold snap here in Toronto. I thought it was the cold weather too, especially since the pressures went up as the tires heated up with driving but I checked with my handheld gauge today and the two fronts were really 5psi low. I inflated them and the light went out.

Better to check with your handheld unit just in case IMO.

If you need air you get air, you would need to put 10 psi to over-inflate. You just need 1 or 2 psi.
