Scratch fix

Hi,

I need some help. I recently got a new car(2011 TSX) 3 months back. My sister took the car, and was back with a scratch/dent. I don't know what to call it. She told me it happened when she was at a Bank drive thru.

How much will something like that cost. I am to these please help..

a picture would help greatly, as words cant really paint the full picture per se.

Dont let any one drive your car!!!

im in nearly the same position as you, but forgot to snap pictures so i haven't posted a thread asking for help yet. i did buy touch up paint from acura already though. its pretty bad. my sis has my car for the fall semester, she pulled out of my garage and hit one of the pillars so the back right door/side skirt/ and quarter panel are scartched up bad, parts are down to the primer, really noticable so i have to take care of it when i get my car back either thanksgiving or winter break.

but yea, upload pics. need to see the extent, such as size, and also depth. if the dent is on your bumper, i have a great method to get it out to be barely noticable. and some scratches can actually be simply buffed out because they are paint on top of your paint, which is alot better than if you lost paint

Smoking is pretty bad. To non-smokers, your car will smell like a room in Reno, or Vegas... since you're on the East Coast, I guess the equivalent would be Atlantic City.

yea i don't smoke, ever. though my parents always have, and my sister now does as well. when the car was mine, they would all hate borrowing it, because i never allowed any smoking in it. then when i gave it to my sister, i lost any word because she would be driving it so often. its gonna get a full hard detail when i get it back on dec 15. clay bar, inside, leather conditioning, air freshener, and driven fast with windows down hahaha. gonna also take care of the scratches and everything by then too if i dont get a chance halloween or thanksgiving since i'll be up those 2 weekends. stak, apin, killer, anyone else from my area is welcome to join me =)

Holy crap. That scratch looks pretty deep...how much is your deductible? Gonna have to replace the panel and the front quarter panel (unless you wanna leave the scratch on it). I think it's pretty costly to fix...you can't "buff that out".

Omg I'm feeling sick looking at it... how did she drive into something without knowing...she must've going pretty fast at a drive thru to not stop WAY ahead of time upon hearing noise...I don't hit women but I may have to make an exception for her...hahah j/k

FWIW, that should be less than $5K damage. I had that, plus the front bumper, for just over $5K. Also, my labor/parts ratio was about 50/50.

Of course, everything depends on where you are, your insurance company, etc. Best of luck to you.

He just lights the cigs for all his smoking buddies. That's probably the only reason they hang out with him...cuz he plays with fire all day long.

whoa!!! yeah it seems your sister rammed and scrapped the side of your car into one of those huge yellow short poles at a drive thru ATM.

I say make her pay the damages to it. No easy over the counter fix it for this one, I'm afraid.

How should I get started on this? I never filled a claim.. So not sure. Should I call the Insurance company first or take it to a Auto body shop?

with the insurance, what kind of coverage does this come under? Comprehensive?
How should I proceed with the insurance company

im a pyro, i love playing with fire(i actually wanted to go into a career in pyrotechnics hahaha). and yes i always have a lighter on me, great way to break the ice outside at clubs in ny, and actually anywhere "oh you need a light? here ya go. My names Dave" lol

and yea that damage is pretty bad. door panel and quarter panel. sucks. i never understood how people could hit something and keep going. i kissed the pillar one time pulling into my spot in the garage, and stopped instantly. damage was a little over an inch and very unnoticable. now that i got touch up paint for the other side though, i'll probably do my damage too
