problem with the radio!!

whats up guys. i recently purchased a 09 tsx and a week into having it i got into an accident... it was at the body shop for a few months and when i got it back, the radio didnt work. it says i need some sort of code to get it to work. i called acura and they told me it should have been in the user manual but its not.

is there a way i can get the code without going to the dealer and paying them to give me that 4 digit number?

thanks guys!!!!

The code should be included in your owner's manual (the dealer will have a card attached in there). Or else, open the glove box, on the side of the interior shelf should be a sticker with the 4 digit radio code and 5 digit Navi (Tech model) code.

Good Luck.

There's no way you should pay for the code. If you give your VIN to Acura Roadside Assistance, or even call ACS, they should be able to provide the code for you.

^Then look in your owners manual or follow Princely's suggestion. You should also be able to get it from the dealer free of charge.

I tried calling acuras service center. They said the code was never put into their system when the car was originally purchased.

Check in the under-hood fuse box covers (inside the covers) for a white sticker with a series of numbers on it. Some dealers put the radio code stickers there.

Also check inside the trunk, on the rear shelf near the speakers or the sub for a sticker.

The sticker has both the radio serial number and the code.

If not, you should be able to get your dealer to find the code for you by looking up the radio's serial number.
