Pop-out Intake Help (Hi-Res Pictures)

So i had a minor accident a couple of days ago, but however my intake valve and filter got a bit lose from eachother. My TSX has a very heavy grunt when I accelerate, but sounds normal when it just cruising at the same speed. My engine is not getting overheated and my mpg hasnt change, so i think it will be ok. I tried popping it back in but to no avail. Here's a picture any advice?

Remove the air filter cover and air filter element, that will give you more leverage and you should be able to pop it back in.

What you hear now is like other member driving without the resonator. The grunt sound doesn't hurt the engine. If you put in a Short Ram Intake, that's the sound you will hear.

Some people like it to sound that way. But like 09TSXTech suggests, no harm is being done.

thanx guys! I think im going to leave it alone, and let the body shop deal with when they repair my car. I just wanted to fix it if it harmed the engine cuz we all know that insurance companies take a long time lol

No biggie at all, though it may change the characteristics of the sound of the car, which you may have noticed already.

Your accident must be a bit more than minor. I assume you are talking about the intake resonator below the air intake, it's no biggie since your air filter box is not connected to it at the moment. The body shop should be able to replace it as part of the repair work. That also explains why you could not connect the two parts earlier.

If it's the exhaust resonator (locate underneath the car) then we have a problem.

Yes, its the intake resonator. As for the accident, I agree it is more than minor, but thank god its not major. I'm assuming with common sense that its not a good idea to post pics or what happen right now as its still an on going case?
