New trunk light still out...so which fuse box?
Something as simple as replacing my trunk light with a new bulb....and still does not work. The manual does not give detail as to WHICH fuse box...
Any help is appreciated. All the book says is there are three fuse boxes....but no schematics!
Does anyone know which fuse box the secret fuse is located?

If it is just your trunk & interior map+dome lights that don't work, but every other light does work (door/vanity etc.), then it is Fuse #16 under the hood that is blown. Replace it, and all should be fine! I had a similar problem when upgrading to LED's:

Still no luck!! Help!
Ok, thankyou for the reply! It is still not working. So, the dome lights work but the trunk light will not come on. I had a wreck a few months ago and they replaced the trunk lid. Is it possible they forgot to re-connect light? Does anyone know where the trunk light connects in the trunk lid? Any ideas how to proceed?

I have the same problem on my 12 TL. I've installed LED panel at the trunk and it works great until it started to dim and all of the sudden it didnt work. I try to install a new LED panel and doesnt work and I install my stock bulb and it still doesnt work. I've checked all my fuses and seems ok. Not sure if I burnt the module or the harness. Wish someone can also give some input on that as well.

If there is no indicator light on the dash, then it's probably caused by the sensor that is in the latch itself... I would start there and check the wires and whether they are all plugged-in or damaged.

the trunk light is not always on, so the reason that the trunk light is not working is because the car does not realize that your trunk is open and needs to be illuminated. likely, your only issue is that sensor which triggers when the trunk opens and closes, i'd bring it to the dealer

yup. i would have taken it to the dealer the min i realized the new bulb didnt work.
its not worth the time spent trying to figure it out if youre under warranty.
plus, you might get a fun loaner while they try to figure it out. lol

Hi, I had the same problem where every light worked except in the trunk, and the dash would not light the trunk open light. After going through the tedious wire tracing and fuse checking, I concentrated on the trunk latch, it was a bit gunked up, I worked the mech with my finger a bit and whoop, there it is, light! I sprayed it clean with contact cleaner and it works fine now, dash light shows trunk open and truck light is now on. On my 97 EL it also has cover to the right of the trunk latch, I took off that cover and there is a white nylon piece that moves that also triggers the light, I sprayed that as well, it seemed clean already, but I think the trunk latch was the culprit. Just be careful not to close the latch with your finger and then (try to) close it. I didn't do it this time, but I did with a different car a long time ago and the latch was flakey after.
