Thumbs down New steering gear.

Last few days i have noticed strange metalic noise on bumpy roads. I thought it will be coilover or maybe something become loose in mufflers area. I was wrong. Today I visited my dealer, they run some checks and I have steering gear damaged. Part of it become loose and thats why its noisy. I have 40000km and asked why it happend, because my sport suspension? But then I noticed an old guy sitting on my left was getting his car back after replacing steering gear. He definetly didnt look like he was a agressive driver. So I think it is a problem that may happend to all of you too. Just beware. Of course they are going to do it under varranty, so its free.

They also sayid that old generation had that loosy part separate, this one is included in whole big module. So they are going to replace whole thing.

Ok guys, I can confirm that all european accords have this issue with stearing gear. I heard this today from my dealer. After toyota accelerate pedal fail car manufacturers changed their strategy. They wont inform you about anything, sometimes they will remove parts that have issues when you visit service for oil change or something. I assume that all accords here have stearing gear issue, so tsx would have same problems.

I´m from Germany, I can tell you that in the hole german Accordforum nobody has probs with the steering gear! Check out your dealer! I have good contact with my dealer, will ask him next week, what he knows about stearing gear probs on Accord or Acura TSX to be sure thats not a main prob on our cars, hopefully

Hey Hondo, I assume you have a lot better roads then we have so trouble with stearing gear will come out later. Like I said Im not 1st here at my local dealer with this issue and they said all accords have to get stearing gear replaced. Just be careful if you ever hear strange metalic noise on small bumpers hard to spot you will know.

They are replacing it right now... I hate to be without my car...
