New 2012 TSX Sportwagon Woes

I purchased a new 2012 TSX Sportwagon on June 26th. After driving it for less than 300 miles I got a CHECK TRANSMISSION warning message and ERROR CODE PO741 on the navigation screen. (later referred to "The Codes")
Once the engine is off and restarted the error messages went away.
I took it in to the dealer anyway and they reset the error code but could not duplicate the error so returned the car.

The next 2 days the same messages appeared repeatedly with the same stop/start results. I returned it to the dealer once more and this time they kept the car for 16 days. (provided me with a loaner MDX)
They replaced some solenoids and test drove the car for 200 miles and then gave it a clean bill of health. I picked it up and lo and behold the same night the error messages appeared again !. Now the dealer service department and Acura are seemingly stumped. The service advisor said maybe they need to replace the transmission ........ that MIGHT fix it !
They still have the car and have had it longer than me at this point.

I said do so and I want a NEW CAR ! No refurbished car but a new one like the one I purchased. At that point I contacted the Acura Client Service office. Informed them of the issue with my car and my expectations. That was on Tuesday, July 17. I have not received their decision yet. I have an attorney on hold in case we have to play the Ohio "Lemon Law" card. At that point I want a full refund plus expenses.

Will keep you advised of the situation.

I would have demanded a new car the moment I was told that the dealership put 200 miles on the car as a test run. I've been through this process before over paint issues but a 200 mile "repair" isn't right.

In the interim I have been test driving other cars by other manufacturers ............... just in case. Subaru Outback, Infinity EX35, Toyota Venza ..........
I did like the new Acura RDX but a little disappointed with Acura.
My 1st 2 Acuras were great, 1990 Legend, 2003 CL Type-S.

Even the loaner MDXs I have driven have had small problems. (error messages, CD player not working, trip computer not working properly)

sorry to hear. I think my tranny has issues too, although I have not received error codes like you have. Not a good feeling driving around and waiting for the transmission to finally give out. best of luck to ya.

Acura has finally agreed to replace my TSX Sportwagon. They had to replace the transmission in the first one (300 miles). No way was I keeping that one.
They have been very nice about listening to my concerns. I am very happy that they do support and stand by their products.

Great news on getting a new wagon. Just picked up my wagon so I'll be on the look out.
