My car just started making metal scraping and grinding noises... when I turn right, a metal scraping sound comes from the left front.... when I turn to the left, a metal scraping sound comes from the right....

The brake alert light hasn't come on, so it can't be the brake pads, can it??

My car is a 2009, and I have 25,000 miles on it....

I couldn't find a thread with this issue....

Help, anyone?!?

 

take it to the dealer.. let them deal with it.

 

+1, let the dealer figure it out, make good use of your warranty dude.
make sure you ask them what was wrong with the car so when you are out of warranty, you know whats wrong .

 

I had the exact same problem last week, except, it was from the rear. Took it to the dealership, turns out I needed new rear brake pads and had to get the rotors machined (only at 34,000km). Obviously not in warranty so it cost about $300

 

Oh yeah it can, you need brakes.

I, too was kinda surprised there was no sensor in the pads to trip a light when they get worn. Hell, my old 91 Q45 had those.

 

That sucks. I can't get to a dealership until next week. F'ing 25k miles on my car, and the brakes are most likely toast? awful!
