Low fuel warning light
Low fuel warning light
In my 06 TSX. The low fuel warning light came at exactly 14 gallons with 28 mile approximate range so when it becomes zero. I would put around 14.7 gallons.
Here in 09 The range on fuel is showing 90 miles but low fuel warning light has turned on. since it is 18.5 gallon tank. So does it mean it came at same 14 gallon mark.

Just so it's perfectly clear...in my 1st gen TSX, I could still go approx 50 miles AFTER the gauge said 0 miles remaining. I would usually fill-up within 25 or so miles and put about 13.5-14 gallons when re-filling.
Is this still the case with the 2nd gen TSX? I know the tank is a gallon bigger in the 2G, so I'm expecting to put 14-16 gallons for a fill-up. Thanks for any replies.

The low fuel indicator is based on fuel level, and it is set to go on early for idiots so that they don't become stranded on the side of the road.
If your driving style is consistent, I suppose your range will usually be close together when the light goes on. For me, it varies wildly. The only time I use range is when I'm low on fuel but I don't want to buy gas yet. I then wait until the range hits 0 before I force myself to stop for gas.
