I own a 2010 tsx Auto 4 cylinder. Only 62k miles and it's scary loose at highway speeds. Once I hit about 60 it will start to drift to one side or the other at random. The steering input is still very good and tight. Any suggestions?

4 wheel alignment done
got new tires and still does it as well.
all front suspension components are fine (tie rods , bushings etc)
Car is bone stock

I drive 40 miles each way to work and I need a fix for it. Dealer can't figure it out.

 

yea mine does this, i usually cruise at around 80-85mph during my daily commute.

It literally feels like the front end is lifting off sometimes. maybe it is?
Doesn't help that our cars have a craptastic EPS system.

It's very sensitive to imperfections in the road.. if the road is perfectly straight and i let go of the wheel it'll pretty much go straight, but otherwise it's all over the damn place.

 

Is there any sensors in the steering system? Maybe one needs calibrated? At least I'm not the only one.

 

Have an alignment shop set the caster angle to the maximum positive degree on the front end (LF & RT) of the car. You can even go 1 degree over factory spec. If needed have them shift the lower part of the front suspension forward as much as possible. That will help in stabilizing the tracking of the car.

Of course another front end alignment is require after all the adjustments have been done.

 

I had a new axle put on last week to cure an acceleration shake.
No shake now, as well as less torque steer, AND, the car is not wandering off center as much.

As mentioned above the TSX is very sensitive to road surface, this is apparently normal.

If your dealer/tech thinks your steering feel is not normal, then keep after them to correct it.

Know anyone around you with a TSX that can compare the situation ? Maybe Acura has one on the lot they can use to drive back to back with yours ?
