Hey all,
As I was conditioning my seats, I noticed that my car door handle was peeling. At first, I thought something was on it so I tried scrapping it off until I realized by doing so, I was peeling the coat on the door handle. Anyone else had this problem of it peeling randomly? Any idea how to fix it/cover it? I don't want it to get worse. The bottom also has like dinks of it missing too. The coating goes all the way up the handle towards the window.
See the peeling above the window lock?
Yeah, this came up a little while back. We had a discussion about it and ultimately figured out that piece *is* available by itself (I thought the whole door card would need to be replaced).
I hate to just abruptly say "go search", but that's what I'll say. There's a thread within the last 6 months or so; go search.
And I'll see if I can find it when I have a few minutes.
Okay, I'll search for it. I was trying to last night but kept getting the actual door handle for peeling, not that panel. Please let me know if you find it and/or if you can let me know what it is called.
I beat you. I win! (gonna collect my +1 internet points at lunch)
So one of the minor nits with AZine is that the search can be a bit garbage. A little goog-fu ("door handle site:acurazine.com/forums/second-generation-tsx-discussion-2009-2014-143/") and we get our answer in the third hit:
Haha! Thank you! You did beat me and I actually found the part from Acura's website (acura store, choose your car and you'll see it)! It's a tad pricey but oh well! Found it under the parts page and under front door lining, number 22 and 36. For mine, he said only 22.
Should be a little less expensive if you check out some of the big online places, such as acuraoemparts.com or oemacuraparts.com etc. I thought they were around $70 last time I looked.
This is fairly common... there was a TSB (B10-018) on it. Unfortunately, the new parts aren't much better (only last ~2 years before they're starting to peal again).
