had the shaking at 50-60 mph.....replaced intermediate shaft didnt fix

so for about a year ive had the shaking at 60mph and it finally became too much to stand so i bought a used intermediate shaft for 90 bucks and put that in yesterday, the shaking seems BETTER, but now shakes at any speed if i give heavy throttle/rpms should i replace my axle too? what else should i be looking at? checked brakes, my from passanger rim is slightly out of round but balances correctly and doesnt shake if im not giving throttle. and the shaking still happened when i had my snowtires on so i know its not that.

any other ideas besides lube myself up and bring it to honda? (which ill never do)

Ahh man, you probably replaced the only part you didnt need to replace lol

Buy factory remans for both sides and call it a day. Honda only charged my 2hrs of labor when I gave them the parts~ $200. Worth it to let them do it to ensure they don't F-up the C-clip or ruin the cores when taking them out.

Yeah, I had same symptoms and left the half/shaft alone ( I did a lot of reading and almost everyone agreed unanimously that the half shaft usually is not the failure component; my Honda tech agreed also) and the remans made it butter smooth again.

@Ian.van -

What's the mileage on your TSX? I just had my axles replaced for vibrations under brisk acceleration:

How are those Remans WOrking out? Miles... etc? I have same Issue

I have a 2012 TSX Wagon Tech with just 70k miles... About 10 k ago I started getting a very mild vibration while accelerating moderately (or harder) from about 50 mph on up.

Let alone the fact that this is the 1st car I have EVER owned that has had 1/2 shaft issues even with 2x the mileage (MAN AM I PISSED OFF)

Which brand remans did you use and how have they been lasting? Did you do both sides? How many miles do you have on them? I know Cardone has a decent reputation..

Also.. The 2012 Acura TSX 4-Cyl p#'s are exactly the same as the 2012 Honda Accord 4-Cyl P#'s but the Honda's are cheaper!

Are there actual Honda Remans?

Thanks

I also had the shaking under acceleration from about 50 mph up issue on my 2012 TSX Tech Wagon..

Just put a set of Raxles in my 2012 TSX. My mechanic charged my $200 to do the job.
I og the right High Temp Urea Grease for the splines.. MUST DO... and Moly assembly paste

Problem solved. Marty at Raxles.com i AWESOME!! You can not go wrong and I got both 1/2 shafts for about 60% the cost of OEM. Marty had them in stock and shipped them the same day I ordered.

I bought a 2013 TSX wagon about two months ago and it had the shake on acceleration. The dealer replaced the right side with an aftermarket one and it was still there. I bought the car and made a deal that they got me two factory ones at their cost. So I paid 450.00 for each one and I put the left one in yesterday and now it’s completely gone. I’ll still put the right side factory unit in as well since I have it.

So the issue was on the left/driver side and not the passenger?

This isn't an issue that can be diagnosed based on someone else's repairs and is vehicle specific.

Aftermarket axles are trash unless you go with raxles.com or OEM. This is one of those scenarios where "You get what you pay for", don't skimp. Look how long the OEM stuff lasted.

When I test drove the car it was shaking, they replaced the right axle and it was still there, didn’t seem as bad though. I believe both were faulty but the left side made the biggest difference.

Hi all,

I wanted to update on the vibration.. I finally replaced the driver side Axle and the joint closer to the tire was flimsy not stiff like the new one. After replacing the vibration is gone.
