Glare on info display

I have been having an issue with glare on the info display (non-nav). It happens when the sun hits the area below the display and causes a reflection on the display screen/cover. It makes it impossible to see/read.

Has anyone come up with a fix for this issue? Any kind of antireflective applique you can put on the dash to stop this from happening?

Thanks,

KC_TSX

Acuras are (sadly) known for either the a) Glare issue on the dash or the b) washout of the navi display in direct sunlight. I cannot believe they still have not addressed these issues as they were first reported in 2004.

there is a part from acura to attempt to fix this issue. It looks like a black mousepad that sits right under the screen. Most dealers do not know about it, or they play dumb. Ask them to look it up, and they will find it. My dealer ordered me one and i told them to mail it to me bc it is about 35 mins from my house and the only time i can get there is after work in rush hour which would make my jouirney about an hour. They wont mail it to me bc they said that the dealer technicians have to install it so the warranty is not void. So i am boycotting becuase this is the most rediculous thing i ahve ever heard. All they have to do it take it out of a bag and rest it on my dash... apprantly i dont have the skill to do that.

That's one of the changes for 2010. They took the glare screen off. No more glare. I imagine you could do something similar.

is the post to this answer

Technical service bulletin ( TSB) out on this issue is ( #08-048)
just tell your dealership you want this TSB and they will order the part for free.. and "install it" .. place it on your dash

o and i went and looked at the 2010, and I think someone stated that the 2010 has a new anti glare screen.. basically they put a screen directly over the nav unit, and put it at a different angles so the glass doesn't reflect off the dash

so..i got my pad "installed" today. took them TWO hours. they told me they were short on technicians and they took a long time to wash. unfortunenatly, i do not have my camera with me at this moment, so those who wnats pictures might want to check out https://acurazine.com/forums/show...ighlight=Glare like Tishkevich posted, its basically a piece of leather pad thing, and i guess it helps. it is readable now lol

what they should do...

...is replace the screen with the updated 2010 version as a TSB! Is this something that is relatively easy to do myself since they are likely not to do so? Anyone know the part number for the 2010 part and possibly how to remove the 2009 one?

Does anyone have a picture of the actual pad. Is it mounted to the dash with anything or just lays there?

So does anyone know how to remove the 2009 screen cover? Is it something you have to remove the entire dash for?

I spoke to my dealer here in Canada and the idiots said as long as it didn't originally come with the car, it's not covered by warranty and they wont give me the pad.

assholes.
