Driveshaft replacement in 2009 TSX
Hi all, just a quick heads up. My passenger side driveshaft was causing the typical vibrations between 95-120km/hr (60-78mph)
Installed an aftermarket rebuild set. Issue is gone however, I'm only at 125,000km (77,670 miles) and the car has been babied. Anyone else encounter this situation?
(Car was lowered with 1.0" Eibach Pro-Kit on factory struts last summer, DIdn't install the Camber kit until this weekend. Could that have been a cause?)

You changed the suspension geometry. That may have put added strain on drivetrain components.
Put it back to stock specs and check back with us in another 125k miles

Look on heel toe's website... he found a drive shaft that wears better on lowered cars?? I think it might be shortened ever so slightly. When you compress the suspension, everything tightens up... This is just something that happens.
I never had a problem like this on my older honda's, and reading this seems to be a big thing on the TSX, so maybe the accord also has the same problem?
I have however totally destroyed both drive shafts and front control arms way back in the day... 90 accord, riding around on the frame, it was awesome. But, that's another story...

Thank you! I wound up getting a local rebuilt unit, I'm hoping it holds up. My legacy RSX and Celica were both slammed with NO issues. The previous gen TSX, CL9 seem to have this issue popping up all over the place, wonder if it'll happen with our TSX/Accords? The 1.0" drop on this 2009 TSX had a really horrible effect on camber -- coupled with poor alignment, high mileage (installed the Eibachs at 98,000km), and a prolong period of driving on a damaged control arm (pre-springs) -- it may have just been time to go for the drive shafts. Lots of shaking and shimmying.
Everything is perfect now. I've installed the Eibach Pro-Align kit. The camber is corrected and alignment was manually adjusted -- let's hope the new ball joint alleviates some of the stress on the driveshafts.
I guess I'll report in again if/when the driveshafts go... lol
Thanks!!!
