Curb Rash

Got some NASHTY curb rash last weekend on one of my spiffy new wheels due to lack of attention when parking.

So I called my local Acura dealer who recommended this mobile wheel repair dude. So I called him up and he rolled to my work today and fixed my wheel in the parking garage within an hour. $100. Considering most places charge like $150+ per wheel I thought that was a good deal.

The results are bordering on INCREDIBLE.

They usually grind the damaged area down. Afterwards, they paint the refurbished area.

Wow, that is pretty awesome. My wife just did the same thing to our Odyssey (in fact she did to two wheels). What was the name of the company? I wonder if there is something similar in my area?

I live in CA. Best to call your local Acura / Honda dealer and ask for a recommended wheel repair place.

I live near San Francisco.

Here's the dude in case you want to make the drive for him to work on your scuffed wheels. LOL.

There are some nice pics of his work on some Acuras.

Sucks that it happened but that's some nice work on the repair. Those guys do amazing work when you find a good one. I worked at a dealer in college and the guys we had come repair wheels did great work too.

Hmm, the curb rash is gone, but I can easily see the areas where he repainted...

Through those pics you can? I think the results are amazing...any discoloration could be just lighting/reflection. hard to tell for sure in just a couple of pics

LOL. I think if I didn't tell you I had my wheel fixed you wouldn't have "noticed" anything different about the wheel.

If you are looking at the top of the picture in the "after" shot, that is not where he had the curb rash. In the after shot, the curb rash is on the left in the picture, so you see nothing. The curb rash was near the valve stem, which moved in the "after" photos to the left, and due to the lighting I doubt anyone could see anything.
