Cracked fog lights
Guys,
I know I've seen others complain about this and I figured I'd join in the party. About a month ago I noticed that I had a cracked fog light. Well, just last week I got an estimate for it. Before having the work done, I looked at the car today and noticed that the OTHER fog light is cracked too! This wasn't the case just a week ago! This is just ridiculous. First the center console, then the brakes, blown speakers, and now cracked fog lights. I've also noticed that the paint scratches easily on this car. I blame inflation!
Just thought I'd complain to the community (as I am a new member). Thanks for all the help and support otherwise.
P.S. I love everything else about this car, and there are many aspects about it that are leaps and bounds above the competition. I fly everywhere professionally and I always try other cars out. So don't feel too bad about your decision. Honda still rules... just some bad choices in design/parts/production.

Hi,
I own a 2008 TSX and I share your frustration. I've been having a few issues since day 1.
- power steering fluid leak. Lost power steering on my way back from Ottawa (to New Brunswick).
- noisy passenger window
- a LOT of paint scratches. I never had that many scratches with my previous cars.
- cracked fog light earlier this year
- had to replaced rear break pads last week (only 56000km).

I cracked my right (passenger side) fog light bracket and I ordered a new one to replace it myself. If you know how to remove your bumper (or are willing to - it's pretty easy), I can sell you my old fog light because the lens and the bulb itself was fine. When I had to order the bracket, it also came with a bulb that I didn't use cause mine was fine. PM me for more info.

Cracked both my fog lights last year. Called my dealer, they said they weren't covered by the warranty (no harm in trying). They quoted me $CAD250 to replace just one light - yikes!
I just covered them both with 3M tape and so far they've held together and haven't fallen off yet. You won't notice the cracks unless your eye is 8 inches away from it. Should have put some 3M tape on it from the start when I bought it new and that goes for the chromed grill too.
Thanks 3M.

I have a RH fog light assembly (new in box) I got from Rob at Acura of Lynwood (Thanks Rob!) but I don't need it, if anyone wants to pick it up cheap.
Please excuse me, if I need to move this to classifieds, I will delete this.

After enduring cracked foglights in previous cars, I covered the ones in my 08 TSX with 3M laminate. You can order online and they are already cut to fit in 20 or 40 mm thickness. (You can also get them pre-cut for the headlights).
About 15 bucks, and fingers crossed they have kept my foglights crack free for 3.5 years.

Also, you can pick up replacement driving lights on Amazon. I got a brand new one there for $75 shipped. Not cheap but not the dealer either.
These should have film on them from the factory.

Hi guys, just kinda off topic but im looking to replace my fog lights as both lense are cracked. Can i just buy lenses? or I have to get the whole assemble?
http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...t&ListAll=Part
If you look at that website, it shows covers, is that lenses? or is that just the plastic cover on the outside of the bumper?
Also anybody know of a better place to get oem fog lights? That website is about the same as getting it from my own dealer.

Anyone know if honda's have a direct fit/replacement fog light for a 2009 TSX?
Both my fog lights are cracked from driving on the imfamous 495 beltway in DC. I 've only owned the car for 16 months.
I'm going to apply the laminex film on the next set of fog lights.

Insert useless babble here to satiate the post's word requirement word checker thing.

I don't understand is how anyone can believe that it is Honda/Acura's problem.
There is piece of glass located close to ground level that is susceptible to having rocks and gravel thrown at it. This problem happens to every car that has fog lights.
Cover the new lenses with Lamin-X or a similar product and call it a day. The manufacturer cannot add the plastic coating because that would violate FMVSS 108.
I cover headlights and fog lights as soon as I get a car and my lights always look new. When it starts looking bad I peel it off and add new film.

Nothing lasts forever, and if something hits your car, it's going to do damage. By comparison, other vehicles have thicker lenses and exhibit fewer widespread breaks.
I had this little car for over 10 years, even when a large piece of debris kicked up by a truck struck the light, it broke the mount, but the glass was still fine. The lights on these cars are *way* less protected than the ones on the TSX.
