Blind Spot

Is it me or is there a serious blind spot on the driver's side? Granted, I have only been driving the car for a week and am used to my truck's big mirrors but it seems like I cannot adjust the mirrors to get a complete view out of the side of the car.

well. i think no matter how you adjest it you will still get a blind spot? but i guess if you play with it for alil more you'll get a better result. or you can stick one of those little circular mirrors on your mirrior to incrase view range

There's always gonna be blind spots when you drive a car. I think the TSX is "normal." I drove my friend's 350z and I was kinda scared for his car because of the huge amounts of blind spots.

A-men! The Z & the G are bad, if you've ever had the pleasure of driving an S2000 or God forbid a Miata, oh, or a FJ Cruiser, they have less visibility than driving a 24' straight truck.

I don't find the TSX to be bad at all.

I dont' have any blind spots. My mirrors match up with the rear of my window in my periphial. My rear view mirror overlaps with both my side mirrors and my right side mirror shows all the way up to the back of my passenger side front window as well as everything outside of it. I rarely if ever HAVE to turn my head but I still do out of habit. I can see cars when they are anywhere around my car. I haven't found the blind spot to be true at all.

When I first got this car I too noticed a bigger blind spot than usual (previously drove '98 Camry and '05 Accord).

I think the fact that it's a $30k car makes me worry more about the blind spot that those other cars. I just have to remember to check both mirrors, then do a quick glance before cutting lanes.

i have been adjusting my mirrors like this for 20 years and have never had a problem. However, my wife can not get used to it.

Lol thats what i'm saying! I always get angry when people are like " yeah I can see my car in my mirror.. " Its like Why? the hell? Do you care about your car? If someone is close enough to your car for you to have to see your car, you have other things to worry about then whether or not you can get over. You set up your mirrors so you can see the lanes next to you, the inside of the mirror should be right at the edge of your window so you never have to glance back.. The mirror in your windshield will still overlap with the side mirrors.. nooo blind spooottsssss .. you can see the cars next to you with your periphials and you can see the cars behind you with your mirrors.

it really is the only way.. Unless you wanna follow the law and actually look over your shoulder, but thats an out dated law from before they required side view mirrors

Thanks for the link, I am going to give that a try.

I too am extra paranoid because the car is brand new and not necessarily cheap!

I haven't tried this yet, but what happens when your car goes into reverse. Does this skew what the passenger mirror does when you go into reverse?

^ The mirror still moves down. However if the mirror is to far out it makes a clicking sound like it is stuck, so i leave mine in just a bit. Also, when you back-up and the mirror moves down you can move the mirror in to look at your rear tire, ounce out of reverse the mirror will go back to the position you originally had it in.

i still glance over real fast before i switch lanes on the highway, you cannot rely on mirrors 100%.

Yep, same here! I don't care how I adjust the mirrors, most newer cars give me HUGE blind spots because of their shape.
