Backup camera, reverse lights and mirror tilt not working.

I thought I saw a thread about this but I can't seem to find it.

My backup camera, reverse lights and tilt mirror feature all stopped working yesterday.

The camera comes on momentarily (sometimes) but then always goes out again as do the reverse lights and tilt feature of the mirror.

I have an appointment to have it fixed but wondered if anyone else has had this problem?

Are you sure that the mirror switch is all of the way to the left? It won't tilt down if its in the middle or right. Not sure about the camera though....I have the base model.

Correction: it has to be set to the center or RIGHT.

Did you look at the fuse box under the hood, you should see a 10A fuse on location 15 Back Up.

The mirror button is always to the right. Thanks 09 Tech, I haven't looked at that but I will.

sounds like the back up switch.... There is a switch on the top of the transmission under the hood that controls all of the about. If it is intermittent then the fuse is definitely not blown. The switch sounds like your problem.

Tish, if you are planning to keep the car for a few more years, then get the extended warranty from Acura (Forum vendor Hansel Acura and Acura of Lynnwood). For around $1K you should be able to get extended coverage till 100K miles which cover the GPS, camera, ELS sound system and all those stuff.

I think your right. I removed the fuse and it's fine. It is an intermittent problem so I am assuming it's the switch as well.

I gotta say I'm not leaning towards keeping this car over our premium TSX. My wife hasn't had any real problems with her car. It's unfortunate nut oh well.

The car goes in on Wed so I will post what the problem was.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Luchin cruised, he's driving something else now, his post was July 2010.

My car has done the same thing, no mirror tilt, reverse lights or camera. Took it in for service, and voila...works again.

IMHO, the common denominator in the equation is the reverse switch on the transmission.
