Abs and VSA warning stay on on my new 2011 tsp
Hi, I am new here. I just got my 2011 TSX 3 days ago. Trying to learn all the tech stuff while parking and the battery ran low and I had to jump start it. Since the indicators i, abs and VSA stay on while driving. I called the dealer, he told me to take it to their service Dept. Any thought? Thanks.

Sorry to hear of your issues.
In the future, let the car run and idle while you're learning. It won't hurt it to run for a while. Our dealer let our's idle for 30 minutes while he set up the wife's phone, etc.
I would schedule service for it. It's under warranty, let 'em have it and see if you can get a courtesy car for the day.

I would suggest trying this: disconnect the battery, wait about ten seconds, reconnect. No guarantees, but it's amazing how many ills this will correct.

i did a search and found this from another section
What you had was a bad starter to begin with which is why you got a "CLICK" noise, however you most likely also had a drained or bad battery.
(Drained battery from trying to start, or a bad battery in either low CCA or bad cell)
What typically happens when a battery voltage is stupid low.. It causes all sorts of electrical codes and glitches. Instead of using a memory saver which is HIGHLY recommended while replacing the battery, you decided to remove the cable(s) off the battery while the vehicle is running which is a huge and I mean HUGE NO NO.
You will have a ton of "Battery voltage low" codes in the system. You will need to take the car to Acura and have them clear all body control codes, ECU codes and VSA-ABS codes. You know.. for next time this happens, there's a million places that will do a charging system test FOR FREE, yes.. for free..

Necroing this post
have this vsa light that stays on as well with the exclamation point and the button does not turn it on/off.
ive dug through 10 or so pages and most of the discussions on the 2nd gen seem to not follow through with any real resolutions.
can anyone tell me how to reset the vsa light aside from disconnection the battery? Or does it reset every time you turn the car off?
I have eibach springs and slotted rotors up front with high performance pads. Would that potentially create issues with the vsa?

I believe I do.
thats the gizmo that tells you if you tire pressure is low right?
the error report on the navi screen says that the abs system is still working.
I can pull the number(s?) at lunch.

I believe these newer cars need TPMS (Tire pressure sensors) ABS sensor and VSA sensor in order for the warning lights to disappear.
you've stated that you can see the TPMS responding, so we'll move to the next troubleshooting step....
physically checking to see if all the ABS sensors in the wheel well are connected

EDIT - Read it is from 2017. Glad to hear you got it cleared.

Well all of the codes are cleared other than the vsa one.
I guess I'll have my mechanic give it a look once I get tired of looking at the light... Not sure I really need "stability assist" on a fwd car pushing less than 250hp but man those lights on the dash can be annoying.![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

so, we know it's not the battery.
it isn't lack of TPMS....but did we check the tire pressure to make sure all tires fall within spec? I believe my TPMS gives a shout when a tire(s) hit 28PSI.
still need to check:
all 4 tires within operating pressure.
all 4 ABS sensors in wheel wells.

ok well I needed new tires anyways so I got new tires- I assume they are properly inflated.
I'll have to see on the other.
while getting the tires replaced at Evans tires they suggested that I replace a front driver side axle because as they put it there was oil there and I should replace my rear shocks.
i feel no symptoms while driving so I've declined the recommended service.
Car has 20k on the clock. Is it realistic that I could have axle issues at such a low mileage?
regardless, I'm going to have my mechanic look through it soon. They did a thorough look over less than 8k miles ago when I bought the car and found nothing notable.

Lol why are they asking you to replace shocks at 20k?!?!?!
Is the oil on the passenger side axle? Perhaps its residual splash from an oil change.
Unless grease is slung all over the place in the wheel well, the axle is not leaking. Axles don't house any oil.

I took a look at the axle and I mis represented what they said- there is some grease under there. I'm going to clean it up, tighten the clamps and check back in a week to see. I don't feel any symptoms of a bad axle so I'm not too concerned atm.
Could grease from an axle disrupt sensors in there and cause the vsa light to throw?
The shocks "could" be bad, was hard to tell when I looked because it had been raining and everything was wet. The car is on eibach springs so they will go sooner or later.
I always assume that these type of recommendations are an attempt to get some extra $$ onto the final bill.
