6 speed transmission issues

I have a 6 speed 09 and i feel like the trans is not smooth anymore and gears are a little more difficult to change. Anyone else with the same issue?

I don't know what Acura does for "service", I do my own work, and @every 30k is what I try to do for the MTF.

Having the same issue at 45,000KMs...read a thread in particular here and some members have suggested changing the MTF or switching it to GM Synchromesh.

Has anyone done this and is it worth switching to GM Synchromesh or should we just do a Honda MTF change?

Is it worth it to do an entire flush or just change?

Thanks folks for your advice.

The GM Synchromesh does not make a real problem go away, might as well stick with the OEM stuff. Most Honda products are just drain and fill for the trans fluids.

Yeah my second gear is a bit notchy sometimes and the car is only at 20k gonna do a tranny fluid change also at oil change time, I'd recommend to stay with the oem fluid

For what it's worth, I switched to the Synchromesh fluid. Used to grind 3rd gear at least once per day (usually the first shift into 3rd) and occasionally would grind second.

Since the fluid change, there has been no grinding at all. I even think reverse grinds less (obviously it's unsynchronized so grinding is expected unless you are at a complete stop), but that might just be in my head.

just went to the dealership to do a simple drain and fill. cost about 96 dollars but after 10 miles or so, the transmission feels much better to shift especially how easy it is to go into second or third gear. I even got an extra 3 quarts just so i'll do it myself next time! you won't be disappointed! just don't get your car wash with the service. big mistake espcially with a black car! =(

quick tip, if you're going to do it your self the fill plug is a bit of a pain to get to a fill fluid so id recommend a funnel with a long flexible hose attached to it.

I have the same issue in my 09, like When I go the the 2 gear from the 1st, sometime it was hard to go in, sometime it was easy. I have no idea why.

I think I will do it when I change the engine oil. Or I will try to do it on this week.
Questions: how much does it usually cost for the transmission fluid?
