2011 Check VSA System - Yaw Rate Sensor help!
Hello everyone,
I recently changed my 2011 TSX 4cyl tires from the factory 225/50/17 to 235/55/17. I did this because I found brand new tires that fit for a good price. All was well until a week later when the check vsa light started coming on and off. It did that 2 or 3 times a day for the first week then it did it more and more each passing day. Now it just comes on each time anything is electronic is done at all. Wiper blades, power windows, ac buttons, light switches...basically any function activated that has an electric pulse sets of the "Check VSA light". It also makes an annoying sound each time and drives me crazy.
I took it to the dealer and they said I should change the tires back to the right size and it may go away or else I need a new "Yaw rate sensor". Price plus installation would set me back $1700 or more at the dealer. I opted to change the tires to the right size since its the cheaper option but this has not resolved anything. The "Check VSA light" still buzzes on and off randomly and with any electrical pulse.
I saw a video online that says a bad fusibile link could be a problem for random lights and I just changed the fusibile links that have anything to do with VSA and ABS. Still no joy. The lights and alarm persist.
I am left with the $1700 dealer option or to replace and program my yaw sensor myself. I want to do it my self.
Does anyone have a link to a video or instruction manual that tells me ;

Crud, Yaw is mentioned 117 times in the service manual. VSA is mentioned 488 times. Fusible Link is mentioned 0 times.
Fusible links are not the same as fuses, but rather big giant things that control power to the whole car. I can't find anything on the wiring diagram showing the presence of a fusible link yet. They might be referring to fuses 1-1 @ 100Amps, or 3-1 @ 50Amps, both in series in the Under Hood Fuse Relay Box.
Do you have an error code to go with that, or just the light.

Looks like the YAW sensor is under the shift lever in the center console.
Replacement says its very sensitive, do not drop, do not use power tools. Couple of accelerometers (sp?) in it, drop them and your SOL.
Gotta remove the entire center console, a 2 page thing itself.
Then, removing the yaw rate looks like 2 bolts and a wiring loom.
Will need to teach it neutral afterward, which requires an HDS, which I am guessing is a Honda Diagnostic System, specialized dealer equipment. The connecting of this may be the $$ in your replacement. Might want to ask the dealer how much to do just that.
