Technik330 - Quick Intro: Honda / BMW / STi Content!
Hey All,
I wanted to take the opportunity to, briefly, introduce myself and some of my project cars.
The other day I caught a glimpse of a '12 TSX SE and was pretty taken with the car, it's simply elegant.
As my resume of project cars will illustrate, I've owned my fair share of modified cars; now I'm looking for something that's a little more grown up, but still fun to drive and easy to enjoy.
A TSX SE seems to have the best of both worlds, an elegant design coupled to a 6 speed...
Thank you,
-Chris
First Porject: '00 Honda Civic Si - B18C5 powered!
Second Project: '05 BMW 330Ci ZHP w/ boost...
In between project: '06 Acura RSX-S
Final Project: '07 Subaru STi

Thank you, not yet! I'm dailying a '11 Honda Civic Si Sedan, as the STi isn't exactly streetable... most of the time haha.
The STi is being prepped for an Import Tuner feature and will then be parted out and sold, with 3,700 original miles on it.
I'll begin looking in to a TSX once the STi is sold.
Does anyone know if the SE is limited to the '12 MY only?

It's alright, I've accomplished what I wanted to do with the car.
It'll be featured shortly, I've acquired some extremely rare sponsorships and I was able to take my time doing it.
The bottom line is that I just need to let the car go so I can start my life; I'd like to get my own place and get married, the car has to go.
The STi was really just a culmination of all my efforts, from all my previous builds, to build a cool nest egg haha.
Boost is fun, couldn't argue there, but I'd just like to start a new life.

nice intro thread. complete with pics...but not of your new tsx.
to answer your question, it should not be limited to only 2012...it should also be available for 2013 but after 2013, the TSX will probably get the axe...so this year and next year will be your last chance to snag an SE. any color choices you're looking at?
oh and WELCOME!

That's great to hear, I was hoping to get one later this year, or even next year.
Color wise, I'd like a Crystal Black Pearl SE on some TE37SLs.
It appears that there's really not much in the way of mods for this car; I'm having a difficult time even finding 1 JDM exhaust for the car, is there anything out there?

Te37sls would be sex! I love the Sti and can't wait to read yourfeature. But that e46 is the best IMO. Such a beast.
There are a few exhaust.
Mugen
Ct engineering
Fox (axle back I think)
And I think there's another Russian one?
Mugen is the only "true" Jdm tho I think. Ct is developed here in the states

haha if you are looking to do any engine mods the tsx is not the car for you. You did say you wanted a more refined look, but I don't think I could handle downgrading from a boosted setup to a stock 201hp with no additional help from hondata. Sweet cars though, I think I like the BMW the best.

I spoke with CT-Engineering, yesterday, and confirmed that they've got an S/C kit they're close to completing, if they haven't already completed it, that'd offer some more go, if needed, haha.
Boost is a good time, it really is... but I've just kind of grown bored with it. Yeah, I'm serious. Perhaps I'm more easily amused than others; I've always found Honda motors to exude a personality, a personality I've yet to find any where else.
I'm not 100% certain yet, but the idea is definitely in my head haha.

this is really true. I've gone through my fair share of motors and I feel like nothing beats their motors...maybe a rotary (but I've never driven one)...I miss my modded 09 si, the k20z3 was a beautiful motor, but I'm sure when I s/c my tsx, or at least get intake on it, it'll be great!

Yeah, the ZHP was pretty quick and the STi isn't bad either.
I haven't picked up a TSX yet, but I can assure you I'm looking in to an S/C... just to be ready haha.

I'd like to see a second gen TSX with a s/c, that'd be cool!

That's good to hear, now it's just a waiting game.
After my phone call to Hondata, late last week, I'm really wondering if we'll ever see the "flash" that's needed.
Does anyone know if it's possible to fit a Euro R's valve cover on the '09+ TSX?

Thank you for the help, I appreciate it!
I called over to heel / toe and was advised that chances are it wouldn't fit anyways, the valve cover.
Apparently the second gen TSX is damn near an entirely new car, from the ground up.

the problem is:
Engine management.
CT-E has everything covered except for engine management.
now check this:
over in the 3rd gen TL section, a member posted up a rumor about a flashable tune. We thought it was for our car.
turns out, its for the K series!!!
you guise are in luck!!!!
this gentleman signed up for our forums JUST TO CLEAR THE AIR. hehe because there was a lot if mis-information.
What I got out of this...
He is not doing the J-series(TL motors)
butt is doing the k-series! (your motors)

Hi guys. I'd just like to clear a few things up, since what I've discussed privately with some of my dealers has been passed on in what appears to be an exaggerated fashion.
We are working extensively with 04+ ECUs which include K series, S2K, and J series options. Saying "All J Series" would extend outside of the years we're working with, so that is misinformation.
I think this was prematurely posted information. I don't have a planned release date for anything J series related, so please do not wait if you're in need. Making use of the extensive list of K series ECUs (Accord, CRV, Element, etc) in this year range that are currently being regarded to as useless is our first goal in an effort to make it more affordable to swap to a K series platform.
The features quoted earlier and photos of our tuning software are from the OBD1 tuning platform and should not be confused with what we're working on for the new market.
Yes I have worked on Mercedes, but nobody has threatened to sue me over it and I've never owned one myself in any capacity. I'd also never overcharge someone like that. That's not the type of business I want to run or how I want to be perceived, so please watch the information you put out. I do what I do because I enjoy it and as long as I can pay the bills I'm happy.
Thanks guys.

Haha, those plates...
I'll post up some more shots of the STi, a little later.
I'm just waiting to install a new turbo and downpipe for the photoshoot, should be a good time.

Yesterday I thought I'd make some calls and see if I could generate some interest in the second gen TSX, it worked.
I contacted Swift Springs and was able to have them email off a request to inquire about the development of springs for the second gen specifically.
In addition, I contacted Greddy and was able to find out that they're actually working on an exhaust for the car... but it's a little ways out.
Has anyone here just called xyz company and inquired as to why they don't make product?
I pointed reps, from both companies, to both acurazine and club tsx to prove there's interest in real product.
