Spencers 2011 TSX

Taking over my dads lease on his TSX next week so he can get a TL.

I've already got a few things planned but could use suggestion and some knowledge to make sure i get all the right parts so feel free to give me your opinion.

Im replaceing the stock subwoofer with a 8inch Alpine type R running off a 1000 watt Kenwood amp. Replacing the 6X9's with type R's also and im getting some tweeters.

Getting 20% tint all around with weather tech rain gaurds.

With the lights i want 6000K watt HID's and some PIAA yellow foggs. Where do i get the HID replacement bulbs.

Unfortunetly the lease is up in a year so im not doing Rims or lowering it until i buy it next year. Any other little suggestions i could add?

P.S. I got plenty of money from totalling my 2005 TL so price isnt an issue.

Did your 20% tints contribute to the TL being totaled? PS Stak, I'm 18 with a shiny TSX, but you know I payed for it and the mods hahaha

There's 18 and then there is 18...

This is the same kid that wants to put 10,000k bulbs in his ride and black out the tail lights.

He'll drive 10 feet at night and either run into something because he can't see it or he'll get pulled over, get his car impounded and post a thread about how mean the cops are or how badly other people drive.

I'm not sure why people want to make their cars look like they belong to a drug dealer in da hood - and then act all surprised when they get stopped.

Ah well, he'll probably just total this one like his other car. Hopefully he won't kill anybody.

if you want to keep it looking nice, don't change the low beam bulbs. and just cuz you're 18 doesn't mean you HAVE to do all the "little kid" stuff like ricing the shit out of this nice car that your dad gave you.

as for teh auto windows, there's something u gotta do with the switch...like holding it up for 5 seconds with the key on On (II) or something. search the forum...the answer is posted somewhere. and by "search teh forum" i don't mean make another thread somewhere else...

i have 23% tint in the front and 17% in the back. IMO anything below 23 is too dark

So now being serious you have TSX so do all the mods correctly the first time so people can turn their heads and be like "damm what a great looking car" and dont let people think "ohh another ricer on the block"

There comes a point where you start valuing function over form. Before that, we're all into "ohhh, that's so cool looking" but after a while you actually want to be able to see and you come to realize that those blue/purple lights just make your car look tacky and scream "look at me, I'm someone whose brain hasn't completely formed yet."

The TSX has one of the absolute best headlighting assemblies built. It is far better that lights from BMW, Mercedes or Audi and it pains me to see someone butchering them.

You might wanna read your manual. In fact, once your dad comes back with the car, go into the glove box, take out the manual and read it. DEAD SERIOUS.

BUT I'm feeling nice right now since it's friday and I'm about to leave work so I'll answer your question ahead of time.

Check the middle compartment. You see that cord that ends in a female USB port? That's your auxiliary port. Connect the USB to iPod wire to that port, connect said iPod to the wire and voila...iPod goodness via your aux.

Can you also tell him how to run wires from his battery to his headlights to make them work? Wait - he has a light switch for that - just like there is a supplied iPod/aux input.

Spence - you only got all that grief because you came here wanting to turn your luxury car into a ten year old Civic owned by a spoiled 16 year old brat (or an inner city drug dealer)

Then, you compounded the issue by wanting to yank out the radio to hook up your iPod indicating that you had not bothered to do the least bit of research.

Here is the proper procedure:

Read the manual. If the answer isn't there, then;
Search the forum. If the answer isn't there, then;
Ask on the forum.

Here is my suggestion for modding your car:

Drive the car stock for a while. Use that time to decide what you think is lacking on the car and research proposed mods. I'm sure you'll survive the ribbing you'll get from your friends for driving a "stock" car.

Your welcome here, but we like to give each other shit and make ed's mom jokes. Hang around and definitely look up old threads and feel free to ask for anything that you cant find an answer to.

Sometimes we get new users who do nothing but ask the same redundant questions that have been answered so many times over,

age is only a number, just be a bro and ur good to go

Look in the photograph gallery and find some nice TSX's that you like. Thats a great starting point for beginners. Find a TSX that you wish yours looked like and adopt a similar style.

According to US law, 18 is no longer a minor, and no longer a kid so that excuse is just invalid. You want to be silly, just admit to it and not have excuses.

And then own up to the consequences later because of it.

You don't NEED to be driving it yet to research the car. Acura.com has all the manuals for the TSX that you can start reading...........now.

Also 93% of the grief you are getting is because you posted in the photograph thread with no pictures in it. Might as well have posted in the main sub-forum with tons of pictures of your soon to be mods.
