Sounds like someone is homesick. Have driven in LA and also LI where the Op is from. If he can handle LI streets he can handle LA ones. IMO SF driving was a challenge. Hope to drive from LA to SF- have made it to SF from the North then headed East and then to LA from the south again heading East.

if you can handle NYC driving, you can handle anywhere else in the US driving lmfao. if you can traverse meatpacking district and NYU territory, you can drive anywhere in the world. gotta love cobblestone streets from the 16th-17th century... hahaha

Haha being from new York and driving in Cali is actually pretty funny and frustrating. I borrowed my friend's car all the time last year and when ever we went somewhere I always drove cuz he never felt like it plus he knew we would get there a lot quicker with me driving. I found Cali drivers to be way to relaxed. I was always pushing my way through cars and being aggressive (typical new York behavior). Now when I go out there with my car I will just have to get a sign for my back window that says "look at my license plate" and then people shall understand the one thing I like about driving in Cali is that in new York, a 55 speed limit would mean traffic flows at 65 maybe 70, but in Cali, the 65 speed limit means traffic flows at like 90!

My plans to go on a cross country road trip with husband ended yesterday morning. He passed away suddenly. Please let your loved ones know you care. I was glad I did.

Man I got to find out what kinda tape that is that you have the guts to cover the front end in it...

Put some Meguiar's all over my car trim and cracks before running the dual orbital last month and the sun baked that shit on there permanently, my NBP has white sticky crap on every hard line.

Also -- very jealous of your trip. Furthest I've driven is Ohio to NYC.

Really sorry for your loss. I lost my father a few months ago and I know difficult it is to deal with such a situation (he was only 56).

Love this thread, just goes to show the visual diversity the US has to offer with a TSX

Truly a fantastic thread and a roadtrip for the ages. Saddened by the tragic and sudden loss of a fellow poster though.

Hey big guy, if you enjoy sushi (and not everyone does) try kabuki sushi near CSN on reseda. Full disclosure my dad has a financial interest in restaurant. But their SLC roll is my all time favorite roll anywhere. a california roll with lobster on top! Sorry for plug.

yea, i play vball for Cal State Northridge (thats why i go to college all the way out here)

and here is the final pic of the trip! finally made it to the house!!!

so it has been an awesome trip all the way from NY to Cali! now we definitely did not take the short way there as the whole trip took us 4400 miles to complete from start to finish. it was awesome experience getting to see so much more of the country than i have ever seen. you definitely get a new appreciation and sense of pride in the country when you drive across it and witness the different cultures and ways of life that comprise this great country. i also very much enjoyed getting to spend this time with my parents as i only see them twice during the school year. overall i loved this trip and as of now im planning on making the trip back when next summer comes (but taking a different route).

oh, and some sad news....after almost four years of ownership and working so hard to protect my baby and keeping her pristine, i got my first boo boo today. i was at In N Out for lunch with a teammate when i was backing out of a spot. i was about halfway out when i noticed a minivan coming down the isle. so i stopped to let it pass by, at which time i continued to back up. the guy who was parked across the isle from me decided that it was a smart time for him to back up too and bam, he proceeded to reverse right into the back of my car. the force of the impact actually knocked the sunroof shade halfway back (it was closed) so when i got out of the car, i was expecting far worse damage than what was there, and of course he was driving an old beat up pickup with a metal bumper so no damage to his vehicle whatsoever. since technically we were both backing out of spots and into each other, we are both at fault and it is a wash insurance wise so im stuck dealing with this myself. it sucks that there is no way to prove he was at fault as i was more than halfway out the spot when he reversed into me, so clearly he didnt not look back to check for cars. but as of now the bumper will remain the way it is as i dont have the money to replace it since id be paying out of pocket. but i did just order a fail jdm bandaid decal to place over the dent so that will atleast bring some humor to an otherwise dismal situation

Bigman, thanks for the pics and thread, and sorry about the bumper.

nj2pa2nc, sorry for your loss. My wife is staying at her parents' place and I miss her already, can't begin to imagine what you're going through.

that is so shitty. you make it across the whole country with nothing wrong...and then that happens. sigh. was there any video surveillance there? maybe u could've gotten it as proof but probably too late now.

Yea and I was moving in yesterday so I had soooooo much stuff to do that I really couldnt spend half my day there figuring this stuff out. The whole situation sucks but hey, that's life. Gotta roll with it :/. Now all I can hope for is someone hits my back bumper where it is their fault and I can upgrade to the aero

Can you take the bumper off and roll out the dent? I figure since its plastic that that might work ... and your sticker can take care of the scratches.

Thanks for sharing your journey. It looked like a great time!

nj2pa2nc, I am very sorry for your loss.

ugh. i completely forgot how horrible 95 is in NC.
ill be heading down that stretch in a week for a vacation. i was considering just Clear Plasti-dipping the front of my car instead of taping so i wont have a blue or white front on vacation

Your bumper looks like it can be popped back to normal with some heat but your paint is the main issue.
