Painted grill photos.

I've seen white and black. Anyone else painted their grill to color match the car?

If people haven't painted in other colors, which seems to be the case, anyone good enough at photoshop to make an attempt?

Actually we have seen the entire grill on a white car, anyone have just the top shield portion body matched as well as the surrounding silver areas, but the inner mesh part left black. I think that would look better, instead of having the mesh part painted white as well.

From the pictures I have seen I think the black grill we see painted has the center mesh area left unpainted (it's already black)

The contract might look better on a white car with the black mesh.

The mesh on that white one that's been posted wasn't painted, it was replaced with a different type.

Don't be so hesitant, your color would look sweet with it painted. I'd just go and do it.

I'm convinced it'll look better on every color actually.

On some colors it is growing on me, but still feel painted would probably look better on all colors. The first gen TSX just clicked, when it was released everything about the styling was right, this new one is a little harder to fall for. This Acura "saber tooth" grill experiment will redefine the Acura brand image or be remembered as one of the worst failed attempts of pushing the envelope styling since the Pontiac Aztec.

Whatever they did to that white painted grill doesn't do it for me, I think if the OEM mesh was left in black it would look much better. If anyone has a pic I would love to see it, especially without the Aero bumper.

Thanks.

I agree, I'm not a fan of the silver mesh grill at all. Black mesh like what is used on the Mugen replacement grills would look much better, but in the case of the stock grill, the stock mesh would still be best.

I believe that is the one you guys are discussing. I noticed that it is still at the dealership, haha. Those wheels look tiny on it and the mesh looks weird.

I do think the chrome grill looks better on the white than matched. I don't dislike the chrome on my black TSX, just think it would look better matched like yours Derwood.

Granted it is a TL and not a TSX and not done completely I thought it was worth posting.

They don't have as much to work with on the TL it appears. When the TSX's grill is painted it appears smaller, or at least less pronounced. This thing reminds of scene from Roxanne when Steve Martin is trying to make his nose look smaller with makeup. It just looks like a big ol nose with makeup on it.

I think that TL would look a little better if it had all been painted, not just the top.

Thought I should throw my picture up. For the few of us that actually like the stock rims

Thought it was funny that the girl across the street has a new TSX as well. Too bad she doesn't know how to drive and has a huge dent/scratch on left side of her rear bumper

They said paint doesn't like to stick to the fake chrome paint. Even with sanding, it is likely that it will flake off.

I'm with you, I think in most cases it actually looks worse, not to mention it is next to no more effort to go all out.

Plus, I think if you are going to go the 2-ton route, they're painting the wrong part. It's the silver part that borders the headlights and bumper that should be paintmatched and the chrome part left chrome.
