Wow, that's pretty cool. There's nothing specific that I really like (maybe timbits? or the frozen coffee thing?). I'm just more into the experience of going to Tim Hortons every time I'm in Canada. It's just such a Canadian thing. Plus, it's convenient.

I drove to Vancouver from the Bay Area in a Camry one year and I swore never again to do it. It might not be so bad to take a road trip in the TSX though. Cross country road trip!

looks great with the lip bro

your driver side fits better than mine, lol. but mine is pretty even on both sides, where as your passenger side isnt as flush. and it looks like you have a slight gap at the bottom V part as well. i had that for a bit too, then sanded off a bit more now its not that noticeable anymore.

yup, when i first had mine, marcus had to dermel so mcuh off LOl. he then use mine as an example and sanded all the other ones, but i guess theres still some sanding required since its a fiberglass part
  2. Aside from that heartbreaking moment(you don't realize how sad you will be when you been waiting this long for this grille and the body shop guy goes "it doesn't fit" ) LOL Install was straight forward

hell yeah, the very first time when i installed it i was crushed and pissed off to a point where i almost wanted to return it.
  3. Spray painted black, may or may not peel/stick meeeeh
you should be good, mines fine so far
  4. Yes the right side seems to be sticking up a bit more compared to the left. I'll get that looked at later.
i was told it'll never fit like an oem part, so that might be the best you can get. be careful how much you are sanding off, you dont wanna thin it out so much that it'll crack very easily. mine has a few chip on the inside parts already
  5. There is a gap from top of grille to hood, it's the shape of the grille, I have a feeling they used a euro grille frame as a base thats why. If you remember sum1 took a euro grille and modded it on the forum and it had the same problem. I want to put a rubber strip there...or it's increased airflow for better cooling
exactly. i put a strip there tho just incase heavy rain and water gets in and screw up electrical stuff or w/e, better to be safe than sorry lol. but i did think about leaving a lil spot for air to go to the SRI for winter mode LOL
  6. In terms of quality. Just comparing my JDP CF lip and the ATLP FRP grille (I KNOW ITS CF AND FRP, apples to oranges blah blah blah) but jus goin by feel before both were installed the ATLP doesn't seem up to par ie the JDP lip just felt nice in your hands(no homo)
lol no idea since i don't have the lip, but first time i held it i thought it felt kinda fragile lol.
  7. As for looks....uhhh 1st in Canada, 2nd or 3rd on the street? Looks good me thinks. I kinda wish the middle bar just went straight across instead of swishing up at the ends like that. Looks like a moustache to me.
looks fine to me haha. much better than stock
  8. So if I was a new 09-10 owner and I saw this thread would I buy this grille? More than likely if I really hate the shield grille or want a different look. If you're patient there may be future options down the road.
    +1
  9. This grille took so long I actually got used to the shield grille.
LOL i thought of paintmatching the shield at first, but decided to wait for this
  10. This post may seem like a straight bash but honestly I like the ATLP grille, it's alot more low key which is what I like.
    +1
  11. While bumper was off got the chance to install the 6000k Lows as well...wooooo
    looks good

Ugh...never thought of it as looking like a moustache till you said it. now i'm meh...

does look good though. i think the fitment issues would bug the hell out of me though...especially since HT said they take a long time to make sure it comes out perfect...only to have your shop guy say "it doesn't fit"...don't know. did ed have the same issue? did he have to dremel any part of it? the right side vs left side would bug me too...and yea i've gotten used to the shield grille as well.

congrats on finally getting it though.

TBH I think they did the moustache swish just so it wouldn't be a total blatant ripoff of the Euro Accord grille.

Yes after hearing for 11 months that the grille would be perfect and everything, etc etc seeing that it didn't fit perfectly on the 1st try is very dissapointing. But it coulda been worse I guess, just tryna keep it positive lol.

Ed I did not notice the lower gap much lol damn you for making me look at it now.

Like I said in my 1st review of the grille, me and ed pretty much had the same fitment issues requiring the dremel to save the day. I will assume once again it's the mold and original grille that is the issue. Unless that changes, everyone will have the same issue, sadly *kanyeshrug*

Also the 6000K Lows from HIDExtra(Acurazine vendor) have a bad flicker now. Alternating between left and right and at once point both were flickering. It's like I'm at one of Euronoobs raver clubs. HIDExtra said a relay harness which they're sending, would solve the issue, any other possible reason for the flicker guys? I gotta remove them now I don't want to give the cops any reason to pull me over.

I will give you a photoshop of that later, but it wont be easy, for one, the acura emblem sits far too low so youll have to cut through that hole, so maybe you'll wanna remove them emblem and bondo the hole before you proceed, two you have to fit a grill behind the exposed area so youll have be removing the lower bars and fit a proper mesh back there too and the mustachio sits too high.

my best advice? once c-mod makes his grill it will be a suitable base to add our center bars too if he decides not to make one

once i can shoop it i can show

Honestly, do you think this grille was worth all the waiting and heartbreaks mr nc? Based solely on looks I'm kind of considering the HT grille now...

and whoever asked if i had the same problem...yes i did. marcus took about an hour or 2 to shave off the grille, then used that as an example to shave all the other grille. but of course, there is no perfect fitment and thus, whoever orders this grille will MOST likely sand off a few parts as well.

all the waiting and heart breaks did pissed me off to a point where i thought it just wasn't worth it. but in the end, i really like how it looks.

I get it the car is dirty goddddaaaaaamn son lolololol I'll clean it when I can.

If the Modulo grille had the swish too WTF why did this take 11 months to make, it's the exact same grille. ahahhaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha.

Is this grille worth all the heartbreak? Honestly in a sense no. cuz W-T-F everything that can go wrong did lol. Patience overcame in the end tho. Not gunna lie there were a couple times where I wanted to ask for a refund or something(I mean I coulda been on coils by now lol) But when I SEE the grille, and it looks so MEAAAAAAAN and ILL, it's almost ALMOST worth it. I guess being 1 of the first few to get it and do it, you end up takin the bumps and bruises for everybody. Hopefully if anyone buys this grille their experience is alot better and smoother.

This HID flicker is KILLING ME. 3-5 Business days HID extra said...I dunno what that entails when Canada/US border and customs is involved. EVERYONE pray for me that I don't get pulled over!!!

^ That picture is from a canadian tuning shop here in toronto, I think the grille now is about 5 bills but comes painted. So roughly same price as the HT grille but OEM quality, fitment and paint matched

For me personally the HT grille came out to that amount

$299 grille + $150 paint option +(?) shipping + $100 install/trim/HID install = HOLY SHIT WTF WAS I SMOKING FOR 1 GRILLE

$500-600 seems pretty ridiculous for a grille. Even at like $300 I'd be hesitant. For that kind of money I'm perfectly happy with my $6 plastidip

My JDP lip came out to the same amount as well. Unless I got a Mugen full bumper I don't think I could have spent any more on the front of the car haha. Now to figure out sides and rear.

Too late turning back now on the amount I spent. You Only Live ONCE!
