I just finally got to see your videos. They sound crisp as fuck dude, I like it. I can only imagine how loud it's going to be with 4 more 8" lol.

Are you running 1 gauge power wire to a distribution block then 4 gauge to your amps?

I'm running 4 gauge to my amp too and I want to add another amp but I was thinking of just keeping it all 4 gauge. It's already hard enough to run that 4 gauge wire without pinching it somewhere... so imagine 0 gauge, lol.

You think it would be ok if I run one 4 gauge into a distribution block then two 4 gauge out to the amps?

i wouldn't suggest it just because that's a lot of electricity pulled from one 4gauge wire. That is why when u buy a 0gauge kit it comes with 4gauge as well.. By any chance have you upgraded your alternator and your battery???

Yeah, that's what I figured. It was just a bitch to fit that 4 gauge wire under my panels, I can only imagine running the 0 gauge (without pinching it somewhere).

I have an Optima Yellow Top battery... but stock Alternator. You?

Why don't you just rebuild your stock one? It'll be cheaper than buying a new one.. but your car will be out of commission for a while. Lol. Those things aren't cheap!

Off Goes The Old One

On Goes The New One, Added The Crossover As Well

I have a question. How easy was it to install the 4 channel amp for the speakers? Do u use the stock stereo? did you just replace the amp and use the stock wires to the doors? or did you have to rewire everything throughout the car? - meaning did you use a lineout convertor to the 4 channel amp and wire the whole car.

Thanks

i use stock stereo... the acura tsx radio gives me the best quality sound that i was looking for.... i took the wires from the stock amp. I will try to get some pictures of this build, a lot of people been sending me messages on how i did it maybe that can help out other on Azine..

Thanks alot bro. That would help a bunch.

Another question though... if you do use an equalizer, would that mean that you run the wires from the stock amp to the equalizer? and therefore send the outputs of your equalizer to your amps?

^That is essentially what he did... I took a different approach and used a Summing Interface, the Kicker zxsum8 to be exact. Specifically, the ZXSUM8 sums and balances multiple signals of varying frequency ranges from a factory system into a single full-bandwidth, line-level signal to aftermarket amplifiers with full force.

I think this would be a simpler approach as i would not have to run wires all the way to the front (for easy equalizer use) from the stock rear amp.. and then in turn run RCAS from the equalizer to the rear for my amps. The only issue i have with this is that i would not have control over all range of frequencies as with an equalizer.

I kno the stock system has options for Mids Bass and treble.. I just think its not enough control. I may be wrong as i have no tried neither setup.

How has it been with your system? are those 3 controls enough to moderate your music to sound good?

not really to use your stock radio you need a high low convertor

i spoke to my installer about that, he told me if the car is not in a garage is preferable to go with yellow tops... if your car is in a garage or hot weather he said you can use XS batteries, the only problem that they have is they dont charge under cold weather
