Kk's build thread

2011 bought in aug 2011 after I totalled my 06 (forgive the filthiness and winter steelies)

brought it home and :
1. debadged it
2. added H logo on the back
3. removed chrome trunk trim
4. swapped pink tails for clear
5. replaced camera with 09 so it doesn't stick out so much

Then pulled off 2011 nose and put on 2009 nose with euro grille (slats wrapped in black vinyl)

1 week later the windshield and both fogs cracked from a truck spitting up rocks on the highway...what a pain.

nose is being sold, got a 2102 grille so I'm putting the 11 nose back on

Little cf treatmeant for the interior

swapped the 11 trim for the 09 (+ the 09 dark door pulls instead of silver, wanted a darker look)

Rims /teins, hid fogs, and painted door handles (no yucky chrome) coming soon

I really like this. Someone might think you have an '09/'10, but you really have an '11!

if only you didn't cut up the 09 grille, although you did do a good job on the cf touch

where did you get the grille for the '12 bumper?? and how much was it? how come your trim for the middle looks different than mine. mine is black but it's got a glossy-ish look to it?

yeah, i had 2012 tsx for a loaner the other day and the trim is diff. IMO the 09-10 trim is better looking then the 11-12 trim.

OP, its great that you're willing to do all of these changes, but why not just buy a 10? You clearly dont like the look of the 11.

You didn't want to just cover the center console in black vinyl instead of swapping it out completely? I vinyled the faux woodgrain and I really like the way it turned out.

I had bought a used 09, shipped it from pa to ri, when it got here it was nothing like they told me, it was a mess. So I had it shipped back and went to the local dealer and got a new one...I was in a bind

It's the real thing, I won't put vinyl cf in my cars; it looks cheap. I got a good price so I can't post it but it usually costs $500+ to do the 4 pieces

As for the person asking what's for sale, (2 grilles, one euro 09 and one custom 09) both listed in the marketplace section

Anyone have any contacts for jdm parts? I'm having a hard time trying to get the headlights

ohh those carbon pieces are for the trim on the inside?? Interesting... Could you actually school me on how to take those trim pieces off without breaking them??

The left side, you have to remove a bolt in the coin compartment and remove the lower panel, I just pulled mine off a little bit, I didn't remove the whole thing. Then you grab the trim and pull it off

The right side, open the glovebox and grab the trim from the bottom and pull it off straight forward. This will expose a screw for the center right piece.

Then you have to pull the cupholder unit/shifter bezel up and out, there will be 2 screws down there. Remove those screws and then pull those center pieces out

that's all, just try to pull them straight instead of angled because I broke one clip that way

looks great! And I know we've talked about replacing trunk chrome trim with the 09/10 trim, but you also replaced the camera. How bad DID the camera stick out? Would it cause the camera to be more prone to damage or is it a purely cosmetic move to change out the camera. Thanks!

Also, when you changed out the camera, how does it look from the back up camera? Same as before or did you lose anything from it?

Before it stuck out like a sore thumb because i took the chrome strip off, now you have to look to see it, more stealth

It was purely cosmetic

I still have the yellow lines on my nav to guide me, so nothing changed.
The only thing is with the 09 cam, i can see more of my license plate and tail light in the monitor as opposed to the 11 cam
