What's the difference in sound like between just the Icebox vs Icebox with exhaust?

i have a vid on this thread wih the icebox. however, i got it installed with a TB spacer and downpipe. you can check that out for the icebox and catback exhaust, i'll let you hear it and judge for yourself =D but then again, you have to put into consideration that I do have a downpipe. I think it made a difference. video soon

CT-E Cat-back Exhaust

Sorry for the crappy video and audio quality. very windy i might add. the vid does not give the catback's sound justice. i'll try to get a better vid when i can. but for now, hope this works transition is somewhere around 2:27-2:32

that sounds wayy to nice to be true, im afraid something might be wrong with one of your pipes. it's definitely not safe to be driving around with a defected exhaust. tell you what, i'll be a good sport and take it off of your hand, i can pay for your shipping if you want

!!!! ok im not sure bout this but drone is the sound of the exhaust extending inside the car right? if yes, then no on the highway with crusing speed around 45-70mph and around 1900 to 2700 rpm the exhaust sound definitely just comes from behind the car. it sounds deep and chill. not loud. the exhaust sound starts going vteccccc around 2800 rpm and above. when i step on the pedal hard, the car roars. you definitely gonna hear it. i love it. sleeper when cruising but demands attention when you vroom vroom

Thanks for the feedback Flip. No pun intended, but sounds like the CT-E exhaust is drone free. Big decision is to whether get a the full aero kit, BBK, or exhaust at the moment. Can't get all 3 at the same time as that would be bit unresponsible...

irresponsible

this is what i'd do if i were you ben, just my

1. exhaust
2. aero kit
3. bbk (its not like we are makin 300 hp or racing at the track...price for these seems steep for daily drivers like us. it does look super nice though with the drilled/slotted rotors and big calipers). im planning to get some drilled or slotted rotors later on too, just not with the calipers lol

i agree with ed benben. in that order for sure. if it was me, ill definitely save the bbk last and get all the other mods done.

anyways, youre welcome. i really am loving it so far. so is it safe to say benben is going to be 4th one in the forum with the CT-E exhaust??? you are not going to regret it!!!!

CT-E exhaust is definitely in the cards. Right now, bbk is my next order of bizness considering they are on sale at Heel & Toe at the moment. The other part of me says to spend the extra $400 and get a Stop Tech BBK with the 2 pc rotor as well... Should have a nice bonus check coming soon to figure all that out

Looks like you have a grat build so far. Did you get pics up of the roof and trunk spoilers yet?

BTW: What are the caliper covers you spoke of in the first post?

Those caliper covers are ugly, and BBK are far too expensive, honestly I kind of just want to get blank brake covers:

FlipRizzi's '12 CBP Tsx Tech Progress =D-xbyb6.png

And put the Acura logo on them, it would look nice, be cheap, and you arent posing as if you have brembo brakes.

But the last time I saw someone try this on a car forum I am pretty sure they were destroyed

i believe the sale is until may, so you have a bit of time, and you get 10% off on your entire order, so maybe they can get you the exhaust and save you 10%?? find out, hes a cool guy haha

thanks man. and nope. im still trying to figure out how get them to stick properly. there is a friggin gap on both my trunk and roof spoilers coz of the tape =( and i dont want to drill holes on my trunk for just the spoiler..

BBKs are expensive, but damn, they are nice when you need to stop securely from high speeds.. Even my wife appreciates a set of BBKs. She's been wanting a set on the MDX.

Save a $1000 mod:

FlipRizzi's '12 CBP Tsx Tech Progress =D-s5xud.jpg

Unless you are tracking this car or you like on a japanese mountain you will not likely be getting your BBKs worth...

I could see it on the MDX... that is a massive beast that i'm sure would be more comforting with a BBK on ur feet

thats interesting killerG. so you just stick it over our stock calipers? i wonder how the glue would hold though?

and for the BBK, if i had the money ill be all over it but that shat is wayyyy expensive to be put on a dd. would be nice to have them though. in addition to its functionality, they look so niceeeeeee
