the rims look good and i agree with others...drop it....

in the process of owning a modded car i have realized that you drop before you get rims....

I do plan to drop it for the next major mod. Along with the SS's I plan to add a 5-10 mm spacer in the rear. It may take me 6 months or a year to drop it. Meanwhile, I do plan to do other minor mods to it but trying to keep it simple because ultimately this is my wife and kid's transpotation.

IMO, acura overdid it with the chrome on the 2g TSX's. I understand they are trying to achieve a touch of class but it looks as though they hit the flea market and bought every piece of chrome they could find to attach to this thing.

Subtle touches is one thing. Hitting the flea market is another. Non the less, I love the car.

Makes no difference in any way if you drop the car first or set it off with some new wheels and tires in this case. All the research and trial has already been achieved through others and thier experience on these cars. All I had to do is a use the search button to know what will work.

At any rate, thanks for the positive comments on my wife's ride. These wheels really set it off. IMO.

I'm curious as to the reasoning behind that

Another reason why I went with the wheels and tires first vs. the drop is because Discount Tire took my tires with 3k on them for trade in. If I would have went with the drop first I would have accumlated to many miles on the oem tires and they would not have let me trade them in.

I am curious to know the reasoning behind dropping a car before bolting on new w&t as well. What is the logic behind this?

245/40/R19 looks a bit too big, no? Guess you're gunning for ride comfort since it's the wife's car.

Exactly, it actually does not look as tall as the pics depict them to be. I had these next to a set of 35 series and there is a half inch overall difference. It was enough that I decided it would not effect the look of the car but retain a softer ride. Besides, either way it is mucho better than oem.

The reason I say that is because a dropped car with stock rims looks better than a stock height car even with the most sexiest/expensive rims....

Worked a little ot tonight and I have two more days lined up later this month for a little more cash to add to the Tien fund.

I say 6 months to a year to lower it but in reality, I know me. It won't take long.....

It will be after this damn record heat streak in DFW is over, though.

Killer, I saw your thread back in may. You were looking at getting some rims similar to these in a 18" version. What did you ultimately end up doing?

No it doesn't. What do you like to stupid stretched looked, its over played, look a little to south of the border, rides like shit, lacks performance, and did I say looks terrible.

here is my 245/40/19 setup. Anyone who says they look too big is just ignorant and has no clue. So I won't take offense at anyone trying to argue, as it is meaningless to me.

Please enlighten me how these tires are too big, they are perfect size.

I think those look great. especially when lowered. My only concern is whether they will rub when the suspension springs start to sag.

Well said man I was planning on getting a 40 series as well I think 35's are just too thin for my liking. I had a 40 series tire on my last car and the ride comfort was great.

For the OP: Hey man, the wheels looks great and pretty sure once its dropped it will look even better. Btw thanks for posting the specs of your aftermarket wheels. Now I see that 35mm offset will work too but I think I will go for a 40mm on mine. Keep it up!

Well said??? The guy is practically getting his knickers on a twist (this is not even his thread!) I just made an observation based on the first pic and this dude goes berserk! Sorry if I hurt your feelings (glad I didn't hurt the feelings of the OP though).

I took it for a road trip down to the river. I had it loaded down with three occupants in the car and a trunk load of supplies for the weekend. (BEER) There was enough weight in the car that it lowered the suspension in the back about 1.5 inches and the front stayed the same. It had tire rub one time the entire 10 hr trip. The passenger rear. I wouldn't call it a dip but it was more of a low spot in the road where the whole car dropped down into and the suddenly come right back out. It was not a jarring transition.

If I had it lowered with the Tein SS I believe it would not have rubbed. The suspension would have soaked up the transition in the road better than the stock.

Any who, as soon as we got come I removed the headlights tail lights and rear bumper reflectors for a little modifiation. Should have pics later this week.

Thanks for all the compliments.

And 35 series tires are crap!!!! Who ever puts them on their cars are idiots and don't know what they want. Bandwaggoners. Get a life.

Sam
