e46 325i or 2010 tsx - black color

Which car do you feel has a more attractive exterior profile?

I currently own a 2005 325i black and in near mint condition.
Never had any problems other than changing the brakes and
now it's time for the tie rods and control arms. General
maintence. I'm considering switching over to the 2010 TSX -
black color. I like everything about the 2010 TSX, but feel
that the exterior profile of the bmw is more 'timeless' and
would even age better do the the fact it has more curves vs.
egdes in the tsx.

I only drive the manual.

Just wanted the get the toughts of the members.

Thanks in advance!

I am a big fan of BMW's as I am with Honda's and Nissans. I love the 3 series (335i :P) and what not but I would say that the exterior of the CU2 is 'better' looking than the 325i - my opinion.

Funny you are talking about 325 and TSX. When I first got my TSX in 2008, most of my neighbour and friends thought I got a BMW 3 Series.

If the car is all paid for, the E46 is a timeless design, I would more incline to keep it. Go for a test drive and see how you like the TSX, we are comparing RWD vs FWD vehicle.

Thanks for the great advice. I was going to use the e46 as a long term keeper, it's all paid for since day 1.

It's just that I got an offer for a new 2010 tsx OTR for 29900 CND from a friend of mine that works at the dealer.

So I'm giving it some serious consideration I just like the lines of the e46 more, but mechanically and age wise, there's less risk with the e46.

Ah, fellow Canadian. Yes they are giving $7000 incentives on all 2010 TSX still sitting in the dealers lot. Is the 29,900 the Premium or Tech model. (Premium MSRP was $36,290 less $7000= 29,290 plus PDI, the Tech 6MT MSRP was 39,290 less $7K= $32,290 plus PDI).

If your friend can get you the Tech model for $29,900, then I would seriously think about it. Bear in mind, 2011 Tech model is only available with automatic (5AT), so if you want 6MT, 2010 is the last year available in Tech trim (it's available in Base and Premium model for 2011).

The BMW probably looks so "timeless" to you, because they were quite honestly, very conservative with their designs during the E46/E39/E38 generations. The only design that was really so-so for some was the 8 Series, but even I find that to be a very beautiful car.

However, it worked out well for them & of course, now remain some of the best looking cars ever made.

the BMW design is def the more timeless one. The life cycle of an Acura is about 4 years while for BMW it is 6. The fewer iterations make the body style stay current for longer pd imo.

FWIW the BMW is the better car in the chassis and drivetrain dept too.

miss my e46

The front end of the TSX killed it for me, but the 3 series looks dated to me compared to the TSX. With the intro of each new BMW model, the new design makes the previous gen look obsolete.

Just a quick update until I have time to do an longer review.

I own both cars NOW, both purchased NEW at the time of acquisition.

The paint quality on the BMW is significantly better than the acura.
