Detailed my wife's V6, thought I'd share some photos...

I don't post here often, but figured I'd share some photos I took after detailing the wife's '10 V6 Tech.

Due to time constraints, I didn't take any 'Before' or 'Progress' shots, but here are a few afters. Process was multi-stage Dawn wash with foam cannon, MF mitts, 4x Dawn dwells, then polishing using Griot's random orbital machines, Pre-Wax Prep to remove all polishing dust/oils, then sealed with Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant and topped with Blackfire Midnight Sun carnauba wax.

Having a black car is a fulltime job, but when properly cared for, they sure look awfully nice. Enjoy.

Looks good dude. The wheels on the V6 model makes the car look so much more pimp.

I couldn't handle taking care of a black car...which is why I got white. LOL.

Nice pictures-I notice there is no license plate so it must be rather new. Good luck on keeping it clean. Owned one and it did look great when clean but it did not last long, especially during the winter months.

Probably took it off to fully clean the trunk.

Fantastic effort. Mind sharing your experience on the Griot's random orbital machines? How long or how many passes did it require to leave a defect free finish? what size/type pads did you use and what compounds?

This one is almost exactly 1 year old. No license plate is due to its removal for polishing/sealing the paint underneath.

In my opinion, the Griot's machines are the best value available in random orbital machines. They offers more power than most options, cost less, and have provided me with years of trouble/service-free use.

The number of passes was dependent on the damage in any particular area.

Pads used were by Griot's - I used both the 6" and 3" orange polishing pads (and corresponding machine) during correction and used Griot's Machine Polish 3 exclusively for this job. Sealant was applied by hand, and wax was applied by Griot's 3" red wax pads on 3" RO machine.

Top coats were Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant (12 hour cure time) followed by 2 coats of Blackfire Midnight Sun carnauba wax (12 hour cure time between them).

Very nice, thanks for your review mate. I'm currently looking to upgrade from the Bosch RO I've been using for the past 3-4 years... I think my arms have had enough. Was looking at forced rotation machines but was also curious about the Griots RO as I've heard good things about it.
