Carbon Fiber Fender Stripe

I am trying not to rice this out but I think having a fender stripe gives the car an aggressive look. Makes me think the car has war paint on. What you think?

Interesting...

I dont think it necessarily looks rice, which is a plus. Though I'm not sure if I'm sold on it since its not really something I'd put on my car. +1 for being different though

I actually have CF on the rear bumper diffuser and the interior trim. I will be doing the grille (C-MOD) next.

No worries. I wouldn't have asked or posted this if I didn't want feedback from anyone. I am going to keep it on for a week and see if it grows on me or not.

+1

try to go with the curves, accentuate the lines, don't create new ones like that. and maybe it would look better if you did the hood too

Dude it doesn't look that bad, if you get some CF on the grille and some darker rims it might go nicely. No sure about the shape you got, buut I think you could make it work. Glad you took the leap. Take pyro's advice and see if you cant accent the orignal lines on the car a little more. You might be on to something.

Thanks. I want to keep the CF black. I wanted to make the angle more steep but the decal only came in a certain length. I will see if the vendor (RVinyl) will give more more length in my next order.

SSjoe, those cars are nice, but they are all american cars. Find me a japanese car that has a stripe like that on it, and looks good.

I'll post pictures when Ronin gets it right

Someone has to start the trend, I bet people hated the first fender stripe on american cars too. It would look sick with a mugen hood.

If I was good at ps I would show my ideas, but I'm better at just fabricating and letting my ideas come to fruition.

I honestly wanted to see what a half CF or half plastidipped hood would look like. We got some pretty gnarly lines on our hood, painting the center all black all the way up to the valleys on either side of the hood would look pretty sick. Probably would help with fenders stripes too.

How about this, a black grille with the fender stripes?

Hahaha you were waiting for it!!

Now plastidip the wheels!

May I suggest maybe making your stripes at a more aggressive angle, as well as cutting it to contour the edges of the fender wall like this..

Yea, not plastidip'in the wheels. I have considered powder coating them black.

As for the stripe at an aggressive angle, that will be my next step....when I have the time.

I removed the stripe so I could play around with the angles. In the end I just need to order a longer stripe to achieve the more aggressive angle. Don't know when that will be but I will post pics when I do get it.

For now, there is no stripe. I actually miss it.

FWIW its not an "American car" thing, its used to identify the driver and the side of the car the driver is on when they are pitting.
