will it fit? j37 throttle body

Tried to find info on the TL guys side but maybe I searched the wrong thing? Will a j37z throttle body fit the tsx v6(fwd 4g TL) j35z6? Or would it be easier/better to bore out my oem throttle body? I am looking for the most gains possible granted this is probably worth 5-10whp AT MOST but in combination with a p2r pnp intake runners should provide decent top end power gains since I have pcds and a long tube jpipe. I just want to know if it is plug and play or will require some work thanks people

What is the diameter on the stock TSX TB?

the civic si guys use a P2R adapter to get the 3.7 TB(81mm) on.

what swoosh did, was he bought a 3.7 intake manifold and 3.7 throttle body.

you can read more from his build thread:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-112/swooshs-build-thread-high-protein-diet-updated-pics-page-74-7-12-15-a-849957/

BUTT, basically since you're one of the first ones to do this on the TSX, you're going to have to find out yourself, by trial and error.

you need to find out what diameter is your stock TB.
then, compare to the 3.7

For If you are wondering; I have Bored throttle body, Ported and Polished Intake manifold, Ported and Polished runners, PCD's, Jpipe.

you're right at the fact that the intake side, didnt gain as much. I predict with the TB and IM and runners, I only gained about 5-10hp.
certainly not enough to feel it on the butt dyno.
as it takes about 30hp to feel in a 3500lb sedan.

I honestly can't find any info on my stock diameter but yea I wanted to avoid big expense i.e intake manifold and what not I'll check the accord forums and see what they have done since they run a similar block but with vcm(the poor fools)

^just like i suspected.

did you find out how big the opening is to your TB?
you can always measure it yourself, you would need a special diameter tool. A caliper i think its called.
butt, you could do it crudely and use tape measure or a ruler

for everything(including tbs for j37tb and pnp intake manifold) you are looking at about 1100 give or take a little. Not a great deal but not terrible for 10-15whp and 15-20wtq(found a couple of dynos of similar mods on the older j30 their gains were a little higher so I am assuming our block will yield a little less because our stock stuff already flows pretty well) a little better of a deal than an exhaust and easier to install than precats from what I have read so far. I will def be looking into this myself when I have funds just wanted to do my research first. If someone wants to chime in on if I would have to port the intake manifold or not that would be great as well as the cost and gains from port matching the head(to the intake runners). I do not know much about custom fab work lol

I could swear the 3.7 throttle body is LARGER than 69mm.
because my bored throttle body is sitting at 72mm.

if it is 69, then there isnt really a point in spending that much money on a slightly larger opening

the inlet is the opening and is at 79mm stock. you might have mis-typed and put 69 by mistake.

Ohh, i see where you got 69mm from.
But i believe that is the end that goes on the intake manifold.

I have not, in fact I have never heard of it... I need to read more 3g threads lol Ive read tons but apparently not enough haha Also spoke to p2r they told me they don't port the upper manifold as it is a composite material they only port the runners is that the same with you 3g guys?

AW LAWDY how this thread got derailed into a wall... tried to skip some pages to get to a nice summary with dyno numbers and bam s/c vs turbo vs n/a completely irrelevant to the thread but still fairly informative ab pricing and gains not a total loss of read but man was that a bad tangent
